Bullards Beach State Park Campground

There is definitely a common theme with Oregon State Parks; friendly helpful staff, clean and very well kept, beautiful settings and ease of access. We've been to many private campgrounds that could learn a lot from how Oregon State Parks are managed and maintained.

Bullard's Beach is no exception. We stayed here the first week of August 2018 and loved it.

Cell reception was great and allowed us to work and stream all week. The beach is about a mile walk but we were impressed with the well laid out walking path, much of which is raised board walk. Once you do get to the beach it is breathtaking.

This park consists of A, B and C loops with longer angled sites on the outside of the loops and shorter straighter sites on the inside of the loops. We found backing our 38 ft fiver to be quite easy despite the typical narrow campground roads. The angled site made this a breeze.

Beach access path is located in B loop.

Ice and fire wood are available from the camp hosts. State Park staff is also on site and are very helpful.

There is also a day use area with large pullout parking lots. We arrived before check in time and our site was still occupied so we headed down to the day use area and found plenty of space for our rig. Once the sites started clearing out the park ranger actually drove down to day use and let us know we could proceed to check in which was great.

Just a couple of miles outside the park, in Bandon, there is a great laundry mat and grocery store.

Downtown Bandon is cute with many restaurants and shops but the best part is access to the beach and Face Rock. This is one of our favorite Oregon beaches and Face Rock is amazing.

We enjoyed our short time at Bullard's Beach State Park and the town of Bandon and will definitely return.

Sites were all nicely shaded, although, it wasn't that important given the standard cloudy weather we experienced while there. The part is quite beautiful with all the large trees everywhere. They did a beautiful job of creating the campground while preserving the trees and bushes.

There is one trail to the beach from the campground that is 3/4 of a mile long over boardwalks, through sand and over the sand dunes. We were on the beach for 45 minutes one evening and didn't see a single other person! That is a first for my 50+ years on this Earth. It was VERY windy that day but, nonetheless, when do you ever have solitude on the beach.

If you're into mountain biking you MUST try the Whiskey Run trails 10 min's from here. FANTASTIC trails. The campground is also only 5 minutes for Bandon, OR where you can buy groceries, gas, etc.

Showers were warm, not hot and don't allow you to adjust the temperature.

They provide convenient sink waste water dump facilities (for washing dishes not dumping your RV) all around the campground.

Of all the Oregon State Parks, this is the one I love the most. I spent almost 3 weeks in two visits here simply because the beaches here are amazingly beautiful to photograph and to walk on. Lots of agates to hunt for, too! There are a lot of water/electric sites and some full-hookup sites too. If it's fishing season in the fall, spots might be hard to get, and you'll see more boats and pickups than you thought possible.

As with all Oregon State Parks, it is well-staffed with rangers and camp hosts and the showers feature endless, free hot water.

Giving a 5 star review even due to noise pollution and for being surprised by the raccoons who knew exactly the best routes to each campsite. We opted for an electrical site with water. I found the spaces rather close together and in Early October, nearly all of the spots were filled. Very nice restrooms and showers with hot water. Did not find this location to be noisy from the highway, but there was an RV that was watching MTV very loudly and disturbed many campers especially those with tents. This site had a large tent site. The ground was level, but the picnic table was too close to fire pit.

3 fantastic state parks in a row. Oregon knows what it's doing. The campground roads were fairly easy to navigate but a little tight as with most state parks. The campsight had strong 50/30 amps. Some sites have sewer. There's no OTA but cell is strong. Verizon 10+ d/l and ATT 10+ d/l unboosted. T mobile was on ATT roaming so no joy on the data for T mobile.
Staff was friendly and the rangers drove around occasionally. The beaches here are gorgeous. Check out face rock..it's worth the 15 minute drive.
As with the other places in Oregon, this is a very dog friendly area. Dogs are allowed to run on the beach off leash and on all of the nearby trails.
The walk to the beach was about 1.5 miles in deep sand but there's plenty of parking if you don't want to walk.
There's also a nice off road paved bike path from the campground to the beach.
Rays grocery was small and a bit pricey but got the job done. There are plenty of restaurants in town and trinket shops.
Laundry (Lidia Anns) was clean but there were homeless people hanging out smoking in the back doorway filling it with smoke.

Our site was pretty private, they have trees in between each site so it feels like you are by yourself.
The path to the beach was very long - it said 1.5 miles but felt longer. It's a cool walk though!
The beach was awesome because when we went one evening, no one was there and it was an amazing sunset just for us!
The town of Bandon was really cool, a lot of shops and restaurants. The public beach was the best part of the trip. It was so cold and windy when we went in July but worth it to go down and see the amazing rock formations and the harbor seal sunning out there on the rocks. All the wildflowers were in bloom and it's just a beautiful view everywhere you look.

Highly recommend this area and state park!

This campground, along with most Oregon State Park Campgrounds are super well maintained, and have helpful and knowledgable staff! The beach is 0.75 - 1 mile walk from the campground, in mostly loose sand, so be prepared! You also can drive there and there's loads of parking. Once you do get to the beach, it is breathtaking. The service hook ups are in great shape and well placed on the sites. Don't miss the Coquille Light House and dress warmly!

Bullards Beach State Park is exceedingly large, and exceedingly well-run. As a matter of fact, pretty much all of the Oregon State and County parks we've been to so far have been wonderfully staffed and maintained. A real pleasure.

Like most County parks, Bullards is a great deal. Definitely a family park. Lots of activities for kids (junior rangers, etc.), but also plenty of gown ups too (great hikes right out of the park to the beach).

Nearby Bandon has a small quaint 'old town' section with a harbor on the river. A few schlock souvenir stores for sure, but also some damn fine crab shacks. The main attractions on this section of the coast however are the beaches, coves, and lighthouse. No matter where you visit the coast north or south of Bandon, you will be in awe of the raw beauty of Oregon's vast and rugged coast.

After staying at several over-crowded RV parks in CA this was a refreshing change of pace. We love state parks and the privacy we get at the sites compared to RV parks. We were in site B37 at Bullards Beach and it was very woodsy and private. Of course woodsy means mosquitoes, but I still appreciated the seclusion. We were close to the path to the beach which is a 3/4 mile hike. This park is in a beautiful location and even has a lighthouse! We also loved visiting the town of Bandon. The roads around the campground are tight and can be tricky with a big rig, but we were able to do it with a 41 ft 5th wheel. Verizon and AT&T both worked well.

This is a three-loop campground, with plenty of room for bigger rigs than mine (the majority here are fifth-wheelers). Plenty of camp host volunteers to keep sites and bathrooms clean, and the free showers are great (although they are timed, push-button ones).

The little town of Bandon is a mile away, and so is the nearest laundromat (Lydianna's, which was $4.50 total for wash and dry, clean place, nice people). Good fresh seafood in town and several public-access beaches within 15 minutes, including Seven Devils wayside, Coquille Point, and a few more south of there on Beach Loop road.

Be warned that this is one popular campground when the fishing is good, like in the fall. This park sold out last weekend, mostly due to fishing folk, even though it was end September and not high vacation season!
