One of many designated dispersed campsites along the Buffalo Valley road. Turn on to FR 30069 and follow it down almost to the river. You will find a dirt trail on the right. Follow this to a large clearing.
This is a large site. It is near the Buffalo Fork river, but not next to it. You can hear it at night though. This is bear country, and it is open range. We didn't see any bears, but we were welcomed to our site by the local Bovine Welcoming Committee. They also provided night time entertainment and greeted us for breakfast.
We stayed for five nights and saw two other people while we were there. This area is on the approach to Jackson Airport, but the flights were not much of a distration. We had AT&T, Verizon and US Cellular phones in our group and none had any service.
The night skies are awesome!
