We had a cool back in site that was surrounded by foliage, but we could see & hear the highway noise (didn't bother us). Many of the sites were sloped and would be better suited for tents, however, there are several sites with signs that indicate they are for RVs and ask the tent campers to select another site - very cool! Close to TR National Park and the right price. Worth a walk up the little hill for the view! Campground info video: https://youtu.be/ImN7Xt2mK1w

We went to Medora to ride part of the Maah Dah Hey trail, but it was the same weekend there was a big race there. We stayed at Buffalo Gap before and after our ride and really enjoyed it. It's convenient to Medora, has showers, and the sites are well-spaced with good privacy. The two loops offer views in different directions and you can usually find shade if it's hot. I do believe it accepted our America the Beautiful pass, so we only paid $7.50/night in 2021. We would definitely return!

We drove through the NP campground and it would have been tight for our rig there. We were happy we stayed here.
Poor cell service, unless you climb the hill.

Overall: TLDR
Easy access from hwy, to Medora and TRNP. Plenty of sites. Will need to level. Large concrete pads. Clean.
Access:
Pretty close off the hwy. Some sites were quite unlevel. We drove through and ended up on Loop B in the back right next to the lookout hill. It seemed much better than most but still needed blocks. Many sites open when we arrived. Stayed 5/29/22-5/31/22
Location:
Easy drive to Medora and TRNP. Advise going to the TRNP entrance further away. We had issues getting through from the Medora side. Some hiking at site but we used it as a jumping off point for nearby sights.
Cleanliness:
We didn't use the bathrooms, we use our own. Didn't see any garbage. There was roadkill on one of our drives in and it was removed by the next time we walked by, maybe 30 mins - 1 hour.
Site Quality:
Concrete pad but not level. Very well maintained sites.
Noise:
Could hear semi's on road, couldn't hear cars while inside. Wind noise.

drove up, found a spot, and paid at the kiosk. showed up around 5pm and there were plenty of spots open in August. nice campsite with water spigot nearby and pit toilets. not a good place to do work if you need service, but other than that's its close to the park and really nice!

Easy access and great stopover. Well maintained. Only small negative us that most sites slope so need additional leveling for big rigs. Beautiful setting. Minor road noise.
