The road is gravel and a little rough probably not suitable for bigger rigs and trailers.
Brian would stay here again

very cool spot to stay. its basically on the end of a gravel road and the road turnes in to a private lane. its quiet there was very little air flow bc most all the trees blocked the wind... you could go fishing right off the are in canal if you desired... to me this would be a good get away spot to relax alone and just enjoy the quiet... more

Hennepin canal park office is not far from here and according to the signage there is suppose to be a park work by daily to check on campers and collect a fee if there is one to collect... parked here 3 nights did not unhook. the park people did not come by to collect or check to see if the site was in use.

I was passing through on I-80 heading west and this area was close off the interstate as well as near Hennepin Canal Parkway State Park. I used the Campendium app to locate Bridge 14 as I wanted to see what the Hennepin Canal State Trail campsites were like. The roads to the bridge were all gravel but in very good shape - you can access the bridge road from east, west, and south. There are no signs or other indications that this is a campsite. The bridge itself was quite sturdy rated at around 10 tons I believe. The photos give a very good idea of the camping area. There is a vehicle barrier so it seems that this is more set up for tent camping but there is plenty of room to park an RV or trailer outside the picnic area closer to the gravel road. The road continues on to dead end and what was signed as private property so there is probably a very limited amount of traffic that passes by. I would have definitely camped here if I'd had the time.
