Brazos Bend State Park Campground

Had a fun time here. The campsites are spaced out really well, most have plenty of room for your parking needs. W & E at all the sites in the Burr Oak loop.

Lots of trails. We saw plenty of wildlife including alligators. The lakes were really low, drought conditions this year.

We had our 3 year old granddaughter, plenty for her to do. Real nice playground, a great nature center with baby alligators you can touch.

Groceries & gas about 20-30 minutes away.

Such a wonderful park! Ditto to all that's been said. Campsites are well spaced, paved, level and scenic. Bathouse is a bit of a hike, but facilities are clean, showers hot. We loved riding bikes around the lakes. Flat and easy for street bikes. Many types of birds, alligators, ducks, etc. We enjoyed this, and it would be super for kids. Even saw a great horned owl in her nest.
Tip#1: the Houston Space Center was a terrific rainy day field trip. About an hour away, very worthwhile.
Tip #2: the Texas State Park pass paid for itself quickly. Reduced the rate of our 2 day stay from $ 78 to 37.50. Excellent value.

This would be a 5 star if there was sewer hookup. Not much close by so come prepared.

This is a beautiful park with lots to do and see, with well-kept facilities and helpful staff. The road in is paved and easy. We did not have a reservation - it was also the last night before a park closure for a hunt, so plenty of sites available just for that night.

Sites are well-spaced with trees and shrubs so lots of privacy, level asphalt, 20/30/50 amp kiosks and water at sites, and a dump station. Bathrooms clean and shower water hot. Pretty good cell service with Google Fi. Our dog became obsessed with the armadillos (OK, we were a little obsessed with them, too), and we also saw owls, hawks, and deer. One star off noise rating because it's near the airport, but it wasn't a big issue.

Five stars and a plan to return!

We really enjoyed our stay at this park. We camped here in Mid-March, 2022 and the weather was absolutely perfect. We rode our bikes on just about every single trail, it is a really beautiful park with so much nature to enjoy. The site are very spacious and fairly level. We would definitely stay again.
At the time we visited there were two Great Horned Owlets in the nest by the front entrance. :)

This park is really nice!
Roads are in excellent condition and trees are well trimmed, making entry and exit easy.
Campsite parking is asphalt and most are extra wide and extra long, with enough space for an RV and 2 or 3 additional vehicles! Most are level but a few are not. Utilities are convenient and work well. Dump station has 3 lanes/drains to cut down on wait times.
Campsites are well kept and include a picnic table, lantern pole, waist high grill and fire ring.
Restrooms and showers are modern and clean.
Firewood is available for $5 a bundle.
There are lots of things to do here, including hiking, fishing, nature center, observatory (Saturday night only), and tons of wildlife to view. (Yes, alligators!)
The park is quiet and peaceful (at least during the week while we were there).
Verizon and T-Mobile service was very strong at park headquarters, and so-so in the campground.
We received over 100 over-the-air TV channels!
We really enjoyed our stay here and can’t wait to return!

If you like wildlife this is your park! Deer right in your campsite just hanging out. So many birds. Armadillo crossing the roads at night. Crocodiles galore from newborn to big adults. Really just a wonderful place. Barely any cell service once you get a mile in to the park. This place is HUGE!

Do NOT plan to drink or cook with the water. It tasted of straight chemicals and we luckily already had refilled our water jugs in town at the shell in needville for $0.30/gallon. It was VERY VERY off putting.

There wasn’t sewer on site and if we stayed longer than 2 nights it would of been frustrating as newbies without the little mobile dump tank to have to put everything away to go dump and come back and set up again.

Laundry is also broken and they aren’t getting new so we had to go into Needville to a laundromat but found the most delicious donut shop!

Amazon locker at the end of the street helped us replenish our diaper supply which was much needed. The staff at the park are also wonderful. The $7/per person per day made this an expensive 48hrs and should be waved when camping but also being a state park it is honestly spotless and void of trash which is wonderful so the fees are going to the right places!

We would come back again just to explore more trails! There are so many and we only got to do three with our toddler and dog. Friendly campers as well.
