Box Creek Dispersed Camping

Box Creek Dispersed camping is a peaceful camping area deep in the National forest. 

Access to the National forest property is along a road for a pipeline.  While this road is rocky and washboard, it improves upon entry into the National forest at the marker labeled 160. There is also signage noting a seasonal closure between December and June for wildlife protection. I recommend some clearance on any vehicle that enters.

We noted a 30 foot travel trailer at one of the sites. The main camping is off Forest Roads 160, 130 and 130s.  We saw about 10 sites, most were very large and private. We did not travel any of the spur roads, but they likely have more sites. Most sites were heavily shaded. The whole area was very quiet.

There are gates that show you are leaving National forest land and entering BLM land.

Verizon coverage was 2 bars of 4G with 10 megabit download at the entry.  The first main road fork had better service with 3 bars and 35 megabit download.
