The road all the way out to Boulder Lake Lodge is great, having been treated with magnesium chloride. We were doing 50mph in places. There are possible big rig campsites along the whole way. We drove out at 11 on Sunday July 4, and there were still open sites along the lake (fyi, you can't drive across the dam to the other side). The road past the Lodge to the trailhead parking lot and campground was pretty bad, but less than 1/2 a mile. There were a few big rigs set up in the parking lot. Most of the sites mentioned thus far have few to no trees, which might be a good thing, considering the mosquitoes. The campground proper just had pit toilets, tables, and fire rings, I think. It is very shady. We didn't actually stay. We hiked the creek trail, which was very nice. The mosquitoes were bad when we got to the beautiful lily pond. There didn't seem to be any cell service except maybe at the west end of the lake, but I was only checking T-Mobile. I could see rigs on the north side of the lake, which would be reached via Burnt Lake Road.
