“Wooded sites well separated”

On the east side of the Wise River, Boulder CG is across the road from Lodgepole CG. This one is on an embankment above the river. The sites are wooded, well separated, and with a paved parking slot. Most are very level. Some are pull through. The vault toilets were clean and supplied. We had a very quiet comfortable stay. There was no cell signal.

“Great CG with Plenty of Room for Larger Rigs”

Overall Rating

Site fee is $12, but $6 with National Parks Senior Pass and a great bargain. We had a large pull through with its own spur for I assume the tow vehicle. There was plenty of room at this site as well as other pull throughs, for two campers. We selected this site for the full sun at the end of the spur which we needed for our solar panels. The site was level front to back, but not side to side, but it was do-able. The creek here is down an embankment, unlike at the Lodgepole CG across the street. Boulder Creek CG is further away from the road and feels more isolated. It's a larger CG and has two vault toilets and one smelled better than the other! This is not a one way CG, but there is a loop at the end and even with our long FW at 35'5" and attached TV, we're over 55' and made the turn easily. In fact we went through this CG twice. First to check it out, then back to the main road and back to check out Fourth of July CG again. Decided we didn't like that one because the open site we wanted would require the end of our FW to be close, too close, to the fire ring. So we went back to Boulder Creek and selected a pull through, I think it was site 7, but not sure.
