Overview of Borrego Mesa Campground

Do not take Cordova, take Forest Road 306 to Forest Road 435 or follow the directions below:

Twenty miles east of Española NM. To get to Borrego Mesa, take State Road 503 out of Pojoaque through Nambe and Cundiyo. Just past the turn off to the west to Santa Cruz Lake you will see the junction with Forest Road 306. Turn right on FR 306. Just after nine miles turn right on Forest Road 435 into the Borrego Mesa campground.

Unfortunately I didnt see the other review. As they said DO NOT repeat DO NOT follow Google Maps through Cordova. Worst experience backing up my 30’ toy hauler ever. Tight turns, uphill, with gravel on hard top roads. Wrong way...then very difficult backing down on narrow curvy roads downhill while sliding on that gravel.

Carefully follow directions posted here. Don’t get stuck in Cordova like we did. This Drive up here is not for the faint of heart. Narrow roads. It rained everyday we were here. Mid July. We pulled a45 ft toyhauler up there. 4x4 would be needed beyond campground. There are roads everywhere up there UTV heaven.
