Boone Fork Campground is no longer maintained by the National Forest Service but can still be used for walk-in tent camping. Campers must hike in to the developed areas, all campsites are primitive with no electric hook ups, no toilets or running water available.

“Not A Campground But It Works ”

Overall Rating

Arrived at 8 pm in October. Not much of a campground. More of a trout hatchery and pavilion. Didn’t stop me from throwing my tent up and getting a much needed slumber.

Visited the Boone Fork Campground, Pisgah National Forest in North Carolina during June 2020. Parking for this free primitive campground is located at Boone Fork Pond. This campground is available for walk up/hike in camping only. The USFS website states this site is not maintained but can still be used. There is no Verizon or AT&T cellular service at this location.
