Overall Rating

Some sites have grass, some don’t. Close to Ledges State Park for hiking trails. Nice community with Hyvee nearby for groceries. GPS 10th & Champa. They offer bottle & can recycling, dump station & trash. It’s right next to a horse area & there is some train noise. There is a 13 foot bridge on Benton Street.

Overall Rating

We stayed here in mid August, Thurs-Sun. Very few sites have shade. There are no picnic tables and just a few fire pits. The sites are close together but when we were there very few were occupied until Saturday afternoon. A group of barrel racers arrived for a weekend competition, nice group of people and they obeyed the quiet hours. Our week day neighbors were working in the area and went home on the weekend. We didn’t use the restroom/shower house. The bathroom facilities appeared to be in good condition but were dirty when I looked at them on Thursday. The campground is near a rail yard so there is that occasional noise anytime of day. There is a full service grocery/liquor store close by. Bottom line this location is not a destination but is a good place for an overnight stop or base camp if you have other activities In the area to keep you occupied.
