Stayed a week at site 3. I would recommend sites 6-8 because they have the best lake views. It's a well laid out state park and campground. Tent camping is slightly separated and there's a large group campsite around the bend. There was a loud boy scout troop camping one night but I couldn't hear them from the regular sites. Well maintained park and friendly staff. The town of Bonham is nearby with grocery store, walmart and some restaurants. Data Speeds were good on Verizon and decent on T-mobile.

There are nice hiking trails around the lake. Camp sites are clean and well maintained. Only sites 1 and 2 are full hookup. Bathroom and shower’s were clean.

The rate is $24 a night, but they charge an additional $4 per night for some fee. This site is a pull through and we face the entire RV sites and the lake. Good for biking around on the park road, and if you are into mountain biking, they have lots of trails too.

April 19th, 2022 - Long day on the road, and this was a nice, quiet spot to spend the night. Our back-in site faced the water and the grassy shoreline which was great for the dog to play. Showers and toilets are a walk up the hill, but the road is paved and lit, and they are clean and the showers are hot. This place is probably very popular in the summer, half the sites were occupied last night, and the weather was raining by morning but warm. Our site had water and electric, dumpsters are on the way to the restrooms/showers, and there is a dump station for those that need it, the grounds are very well maintained and clean.
Do not recommend leaving your truck/car doors open, as the squirrels have definitely gotten used to eating from humans and are quite brazen, and hop right in. Nice spot that we would visit again if in the area.

Not sure I'd want to stay in this site in the summer, however due to the lack of trees. There is a line of trees blocking you from the morning sun but nothing in the afternoon. The park host was very nice and we enjoyed the hiking although it is very easy. The outer sites had a few more trees and would likely be more enjoyable during summer in TX. AT&T service was great.
I only give 4 stars for noise because there were some earth movers somewhere close by that were noisy but likely not a long term problem.

This is one of those campgrounds that corrals all the RVs in a tight space, I guess for the sake of not running electrical lines too far. Everyone but us seemed to be hanging out for a while, though I can't imagine why you'd want to drive all the way out here to sit in your trailer 8 ft from the next trailer, which was about the separation in the "lakeside" spots (we had more room up the hill a bit). The bathrooms (a fair distance from the campsites) had that stinky toilet odor, super slippery tile with no rubber matting, and wall mold, for an apparently new-ish structure. Absolutely no place to sit your soap, even. First site we tried was too unlevel to park, but we got reasonably level at the next. 2 bars Verizon and some OATV. The charms of the park weren't really apparent from the RV portion of the campground. The tent camping was much more bucolic looking,

This is e smallest state park in Texas but it is one of our favorites. The sites are close together and site on a large beaver pond. Despite it being small the campground is cozy and quiet.

The sewer system is not shut down as it says on this page. The sites are close together in a small area and there are only two full hookup sites. The restrooms/showers were some of the nicest I have seen in a state park, were heated and very clean. The small campground has a clear view of the lake. There is a volleyball pit, a concrete pavilion with shaded picnic tables, a basketball goal, and a swing set, all next to the CCC built park office. The trails map shows some nice hiking trails but we did not have a chance to check any of them out.

Bonham State Park Bonham, Texas | RV Camping And Relaxing By The Lake
For our first RV camping trip of 2018 we took a short drive north to Bonham State Park right outside of Bonham, Texas. This great little Texas State Park was constructed by the CCC back in the 30's....
