Bockman is a rustic camp ground in State Forest State Park, near Walden, CO. The camp ground was hit hard by pine beetles and there are almost no trees left in the camp. This isn't terrible, as the surrounding area is still very beautiful and daytime temperatures were only in the 60's for our stay in July.
There are several trail heads for hiking, and a small reservoir nearby. We saw many people on ATV's enjoying the area while we were at the camp.
The camp sites have reasonable separation, and the fire pit and picnic table worked well for us. Our spot was kind of a pain to get into, because the spot pointed the opposite direction of the one way loop. The only facilities in the area were vaulted toilets. It appears that there was water at one time, but the spigots were wrapped with plastic bags. The park also has a dump station near the exit of the park.
We had no bars on our Verizon mobile phones in the camp ground.
Overall, we had a great time at State Forest State Park and enjoyed our time at Bockman.
