Check-in was quick and friendly. Wind your way to your site through fairly well trimmed trees. The road is kind of narrow but we got our 45er and toad in fine. All the roads and sites are sand so it’s messy. Pull thru sites are very long but narrow with a concrete pad. The concrete pad can make it tricky maneuvering into and out of the narrow site. Make sure your step clears it as well! Our site was pretty level. Lots and lots of foliage as if you are camping in a jungle. It’s great for privacy but our travel friend was claustrophobic and didn’t like it. We thought it was pretty cool! It is very quiet here. Definitely no satellite coverage with all the above mentioned foliage but they actually have cable. In a regional park! Verizon was 4g 2 bars, and their WII FI worked great – when it worked. Easy half hour drive to St Simons Island and Jekyll Island. Some very friendly bunnies in the area. There is a pier and boat ramp as well as a small lake with a beach area. The main detraction is the bugs! There are lots of them and they bite!

We camped there last weekend and the roads were very, very dusty. They need to have a water truck go through spraying them to hold down the dust. I have camped at private campgrounds in the past that do this. This is a County owned and maintained park so they should be able to do this. People with asthma or other lung ailments would have a hard time staying there long these days.
Plus we asked could we move to another site due to the people next to us smoking. Was told no due to being sold out all weekend. Each day I counted at least 8 site available. I was also told I would have wi-fi availability for work. I had it all of 3 hours on Friday afternoon.
The family restrooms at the front with the combination locks were once again awesome. One of the main reasons we picked this campground. Sadly our next trip might be somewhere else. Might try and hit either a State Park or a private campground.

It had rained before we arrived and as we checked in the skies opened up and it poured buckets!
Our site had a concrete pad - but it didn't line up with our door in the rear. We had 3" deep puddles and had to lay down boards to make a walkway from truck to RV. The water drained pretty fast fortunately - after the rain ended - but wouldn't want to camp there if it was going to be a rainy week. Sandy roads and sites - dogs were a mess and after a walk we had to bathe them. (they are small and low to the ground)!
Would stay again if nice weather is predicted...would love to explore it!

What a jewel of a campground on the Georgia coast. Situated in beautiful Blythe Island Regional Park, this campground has just about everything you can ask for. Full hook ups, easy wide one way drives, wide open sites that are easy to back into (even for newbies), pull through spots if you just have to have those, lots of space and foliage between the sites. We were in site 5, the lake is right across the path. If you can get sites 1-12, do so. They are all great, not that interior sites are bad. The park has cable TV and wifi, but you know how park wifi gets.
Tmobile coverage in the park seems a little light, only 2-3 bars. Ok to read news and do email. If you had a cellular booster it might do more.
I only dinged on star off on noise, not due to anything in the park but I-95 isn't that far away, maybe a mile. When it's quiet and the crickets are chirping, you might hear a semi off in the distance. OK, so it's not the River of No Return Wilderness, it's not a big deal. But this park is. Come and see.

Large pull thru sites with beautiful trees between sites. Great park with hiking and biking trails throughout. If you're in the area it's a must stay. Will definitely stay here again!

I’ve never seen them so bad. Everytime the kids left the camper to fish swim or feed the bunnies they soon returned covered in bites with a fog of mosquitoes chasing them. The rabbits are so spoiled they only seem to eat chips. Carrots and strawberries didn’t interest them very much. Other than that it’s a nice place.

The lake is nice and you can fish, canoe, or swim in it.
My family enjoyed the bunnies the best. They were always around the main office building and in the evening they were all around our campsite. We had lot 91 so we were not very far away from the front office.
All of the full hook up things worked as they should 50 amp, cable, water and sewer.
My only concern is that the county runs this campground and they had a lady doing community service by picking up the trash. I don't have a problem with the community service but the lady stopped by and was nice and welcoming to the campground. I thought she worked for them at first. 30 minutes later she was telling us (my child included) her story and run ins with the law. Plead guilty of driving on drugs but she said it was a joke and she has never done anything wrong. I believe she was on something at that time. My wife said out loud that she was uncomfortable and took our kid inside and it didn't slow down the sad story. I finally had to be a bit rude to get her to leave. I took one star off for this as we had friends in two different lots that didn't have the encounter. I don't believe it to be common but I want to put it out there as I have always felt very comfortable around other campers except for this lady.
We still had a great time minus the 30 minutes of a crazy story. The good outweighed the bad I will come back here soon.

We were disappointed when we were going to the lake around 6PM just to realize that the access closes around 5PM. We find it a bit early considering it was the middle of June and there is sunlight until 8PM at least. We still walked around and enjoyed the views around the lake and nice trails.

We really loved our experience at this campground. There were tons of “wild rabbits” the kids could pet. The WIFI was strong enough to work off of. It was great for exploring Jekyll & St Simon Islands. There is also an awesome 3.5 mi mtb trail in the park!
