Bluestem Point Area

Broiling heat! When we booked site said partial shade but there was not a tree in sight. We did not use the bathrooms so cannot comment on them. We kayak so we thought we’d cool off in the water but that was pure noise and jet ski fumes. Although after people left on Memorial Day we did frolick a bit in the water. But I do not believe we would ever go back. In addition the main road people drove fast on.

We stayed here so we could drive the Flint Hills Scenic Byway and go to the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve (both worthy!) The bathrooms are outdated, but wonderful in their own way – no roof! Loved taking an open air shower, though we were told they are adding roofs this winter. We're here on a Sunday night after Labor Day, so hardly anyone else is in the park. While I understand that there's probably never a good time to mow the grass, we really wish they hadn't chosen to do it at dinner time. The only other people in the campground chose to party until 4 a.m. despite being asked to quiet down around 1:30. Where were the campground hosts? Our AT&T Hotspot worked fine.
