Never stayed here before and arrived about 11:30AM. Usually TT charges for early check-in (before noon). We were not charged. Sites are difficult to level on. Because we have a large picture window in back I wanted a view and we got a nice view. The last weekend we were here the place is filling up (17-19 May). Campground slopes up from Highway 50 providing people up-slope with nice views of the reservoir. Weather from time we arrived varied from mild to cold nights and included snow and some very high winds (over 50mph gusts). Our 38 foot 5th wheel was rocking. Our slide toppers were flapping. I don't handle windy conditions well. The poor weather limited any outside activities. There is an indoor pool that was closed the first few days after our arrival. The Main Lodge was getting a new roof and looks superb. When we were here the bridge about a mile away was closed so we couldn't travel West. The laundry is narrow between washers and dryers so only 1 person at a time can access the machines. Charged 8 quarters per wash as well as 8 quarters to dry. The signs require HE soap so if you don't bring your own, there is a machine that sells individual packets. Don't know where one gets quarters so we went into Gunnison (about 10-12 miles East) to do our wash. Some TT parks allow (don't charge) for deliveries of medicine or RV parts for repair. THIS PARK CHARGES $5 for any delivery. The information on line stated that there is a $5 per night charge for Elite sites. When we arrived that fee was not enforced. The map available on TT website is not very detailed. Sites along Willow Creek (with numbers 250 to 281) are dry camping. I wouldn't tow long or tall trailer there. Walk that area first. Our site had 30 amp FHU and offered us a nice view. We could see the lake through the trees because there were no leaves on them. If it was later in spring, our view of the lake would be blocked. We noticed many arrivals did not pull into the long parking spaces for check-in. Please use these and don't simply park blocking anyone else from entering. The little guard shack was never manned during our stay. Also if you have a single vehicle don't block/park/stop in the long parking spaces. Use common sense. The lodge is beautiful both inside and out. Cell service was reported to be better early in our stay and declined as the campground filled up. I have Starlink and as always, we had zero issues getting internet. Our site (134) had wooden fencing at/near the road and it was a challenge backing into the site because of this decorative fence. Many sites have this added feature. On the map there are 2 sites in between the cottages/cabins. Sites 145 and 530 are actually open for RV use if you choose and if they are not already taken. Campendium rates NOISE by more stars means quiet. More stars means more more quiet. I found our site had only man made noise when a vehicle went by our camp site. We couldn't hear noise from the highway when inside. Lots of chirping birds sounded wonderful to us.

We stayed in an 8 person cabin and had about 8Mbps which is better than some of the other TT. We liked the campground but did not like the 8 person cabin. Lot's of mattresses but layout sucked. Small barsink, mini-fridge and not the full sized fridge, no bbq, no microwave, no shower. Next time we will get one of the other cabins with the full refrigerator. Staff is nice and area is beautiful.

currently there is a detour that is for locals only.. coming from the north / west you can go I-70 to copper mt and come down 91, or at eagle vail down hwy 24 which is a bit more twisty..
This also takes you over Monarch Pass which can be good on bottom and snowing on top.. ask me how i know. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2MaBuZFiTw&t=17s

The lots are overgrown with weeds, the bocce court is hard to find in all the weeds. Decent but very tight laundry room and the pool/hot tub closes at 8pm. I would stay again only because of the location and I don’t have to pay to stay.

As Thousand Trails members, we were excited when this park became part of our membership. We love Colorado and the views in the park are beautiful overlooking the Blue Mesa Reservoir. We visited in July of 2022 and were in site 354 which is an end site at the top of the hill. We loved having the extra space of an end site, but it is more work walking up the hill from the amenities!
Speaking of, the amenities are amazing. We loved the outdoor pool especially (there's an indoor one too)! The playground, mini-golf, family center, fishing pond, and even horseback rides directly in the park will keep you busy. Our kids didn't want to leave. :)
Going into Gunnison is fairly easy, and for our young kids, the splash area at the Gunnison mural and the large playground at Jorgensen Park are fun to visit. Crested Butte and Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park are must see places in day-trip range.
We did struggle with internet connectivity while here, but being able to use park Wi-Fi was nice. Since then we've upgraded to Starlink (we noticed many people at the park using theirs), so that would make the experience even better next time. You may want to have extra lengths of hose/cable as well as some of the hookups are fairly far back in some of the sites.
We would love to visit the park again for sure! We have a campground review video as well if you'd like to see more! https://youtu.be/VoRnRblRB3I

This park is at base mountain and sites are fairly level but you should drive around and pick your site as some are unloved. Sites are in mostly natural state. You share power pedestals and water, but both work great. Sites have picnic table with concrete pad. If you are a working nomad you better plan on working in common area that has hotspot or going into Gunnison. Cell phone service with booster is 0. The park has park wide wireless connection, but after connecting you are not going anywhere on the internet. Lots of seasonal campers, but plenty of open spots. Two pools, one open and not heated and one in front common building that has heated pool.
I would stay here again as it is so beautiful and overviews Gunnison Lake feed by Gunnison River. .

The weather was pretty perfect the entire time we stayed with a few thunder storms. They have so many activities for kids to keep busy. No cell service but we had a Starlink which worked great for Zoom meetings and watching tv.
We did a quick video to show sites and amenities.

Beautiful views
Large Lots.
Negative
No WiFi or Cell connectivity (Verizon)
Hookups at back of the sites . My waste discharge hose would not reach the dump.
Majority of campers seemed to be year-round or long-term. Seemed there were no restrictions ( or not enforced) on storage on the lots e.g. bikes, boat, tarps etc.
