Blanket Creek Provincial Park Campground

Access to the park is via a .6 Km switch back road from highway 23 south of Revelstoke. It is pavement all the way. Signage is adequate. The Parameter roads are big rig friendly. This park is more than twenty kilometres from the nearest services so make sure you stock up on supplies before you go.

There is no park office but there is a self serve kiosk at the entrance. If you have a reservation, one just continues to your site. A clerk does rounds in the evening to confirm your details.

Our site, 68, was a wide back in that was more than long enough for our rig and towed. It was a level, gravelled site with a table and fire pit. The table had a built in ledge to hold a camp stove and or a grill.

Cell service did not exist at our site thus we had no internet. We could not find any OTA TV. Satellite would be difficult because of the trees.

Site 68 was close to the lake which did have a sandy beach area. The water was cool but we did see folks enjoying a swim. Distance between sites is good with some foliage as a break

The park was clean and well groomed. We did not use the free showers or flush toilets but they were very clean. There are also vault toilets throughout the park that were also very clean and odor free.

We paid $ 28.00 per night and fee we received good value. We would return if in the area.

We stayed one night, on our way to Banff, 8/12/2019.

Site #73 is a beautiful back-in site, which a view out the back of the site overlooking the lake. THE MOST BEAUTIFUL campsite we've stayed in! Large gravel site, with new picnic table with grill shelf, and fire ring. Site was nearly level. There is no lake access at our site, as there is a small drop-off to the lake level. The trees part to show us the lake, which had a layer of fog in the morning. There is a trail behind our campsite, which goes around the campground. There is access to a lagoon, as well as the lake front, elsewhere in the park.

Arriving with a reservation, we went directly to our site, set up, and checked in by walking back to the entrance.

Access to the park is a bit away from Revelstoke, the nearest town. ~ 30 kilometers, so bring what you need for your stay. Nice, well-maintained road to the park; no problem with a big rig.

The site is boondocking, with water spigot and trash nearby. There are a couple of vault toilets nearby, as well as a bath house closer to the entrance with free, hot showers. Nice and new, and well-kept. The bath house includes a sink outside for dishwashing.

The campground was quiet, with lots of space between site, and lots of privacy.

The rangers were friendly, and gave us our "Bear Aware" instructions to keep our site clean.

One point - don't forget your mosquito repellant!

Firewood is available at the entrance, with a wagon to drag it back to the campsite. I think it was $7 for more than we burned in an evening.

Just a beautiful, quiet place to spend some time.

Didn't like this campground for following reasons:
- after occupying the site visitors must walk back to the office and register (?)
- no access to the lake, it's kind of cliff, however there are lagoon in the campground, fed by a creek.
- beach and the crowd are all around this lagoon and water is not my type
- sites are large and far from each other, separated by trees, not bush, so privacy is not best
- pit toilets were clean but with very overdue maintenance. VERY stinky, so avoid booking sites close to the toilets, you will regret big time
- no cellular network signal
- this was 5th campground in our trip but mosquitoes were angrier than in other places
- there is bear living in this campground, not bothering anyone but his poo is around.
- access road is long and curly. Far from highway, which is not bad, less noise.
The day we arrived fire ban started, but many sites were still burning wood, don't know if anyone from staff told them anything... To finish review on positive note: there is new building - brand new showers and flash toilets, which were really good, clean.
Overall this camping is ok but I think we will try another place next time
