1-90 said Chicago was 60 miles away when I got on the highway. I was not headed to Chicago this trip.

It's kind of far out there, I grew up in that area and might choose Chicago Northwest KOA Holiday in Union, IL instead, depending on your route. If you choose to stay there, be sure to hit Checkers Restaurant in Union. I worked there for several years and it was FUN and good food. Great outdoor gazebo and eating area. Enjoy my stomping grounds!

Yes it would be. Downtown Chicago with good traffic is about 1.5 hours. The park is located a few miles from the interstate and is a quiet park.

We didn’t visit Chicago from here. I we found the Hollywood Casino RV park in Joliet IL to be much more convenient for Chicago and it’s a lovely green park, not your typical casino lot. There’s nothing closer to the city that I know of.

No really, downtown Chicago is 70 or so miles away with all of the traffic.
