We witnessed a dozen RV's and even ORV's suffering damage due to careless driving. Not much flat ground, but we lucked out with a great site surrounded by juniper and pine. No facilities at all. ATT mobile service was not very good.

This is the closest spot to the park you can stay, less then 5 minutes. Only has a few flat areas right off the road to park a RV. Lots of spots for smaller vehicles, specially if you have 4x4, the roads wiggle through there for miles. Pretty sketchy taking a RV past the main turn in area which fills in pretty close together at night. ... more

I parked very close to the entrance due to no 4x4 / low clearance. Great view of the mountains and 30+mbps on ATT made for a perfect place to work.

solo female in a minivan, I felt safe and cozy here. There are many sites, I counted around 10, that are close to the entrance and are accessible with a minivan. My site is totally secluded, which I love, a short distance to the road, which I don't mind since traffic is not too busy during the week. But I get to be surrounded by trees that provide lots of shade during the hottest days of this crazy heat wave the whole country is experiencing. And I can still charge my solar.
Couldn't be happier! Oh well, yes, when deer walk next to my site ignoring my presence... communing with Nature feels good.

This is a great spot for anyone planning to explore Black Cyn of the Gunnison NP. We arrived in the evening and had no problem finding a private spot. Off-roading thru ways were rough. Dense trees gave some privacy but made the place a maze to navigate! Lots of well established sites but be prepared to hear your neighbors during peak season and weekends. Some sites have partial Mountain views. Easy proximity to Black Canyon south entrance.

Were able to park on dirt road and pull off enough to be out of main passage area. Really needed to level RV. However, it is nice and quiet here and only a short ride to the national park. There is also good cell service, which we think important in planning upcoming adventures! There are not many places where we would have felt comfortable driving the RV. Many places however for tents and camper vans, and if you have high clearance, possibilities seem endless
