The interior roads are a bit tight, but navigable. Our site was fairly level, with just enough room to park our 24-foot TT before the site starting tilting down a bit. Overall, it was quiet, except when the trains went by, which happened frequently. We would stay here again.

Clean park with full hook-ups. Bathrooms very clean. Easy access off highway for stopover. However, there was a fair amount of road noise and a train traffic all night.

If I came back to Birmingham I would look for alternatives.

We stayed at this clean and comfortable campground while on our way to Gulf Shores. It was easy on and off the expressway. Concrete pad. Staff was friendly and helpful. Bathrooms were clean. Would stay here again!

Wanted something close to Birmingham. Other parks closer to Birmingham were booked. They still had space for Wed - Thurs stay and booked online. I called the day I was arriving to check on a possible late check in. Staff was friendly and courteous. Arrived in the early evening and was directed to my site by the evening manager. Site had water, 30A electric and sewage. I forgot campground had a pool or I would have happily jumped in to escape the heat. Used my AC instead. Large shopping center a few miles away. Easy freeway access to get to all parts Birmingham. There are trains that run nearby but they did not bother me. I would stay here again but would also look at nearby State parks as well.

We didn’t really know what to expect when we booked at Birmingham South, we just needed a place to stay for the week and it was the only place with an opening. However we were pleasantly surprised when we got here. The people who brought us to our site were very nice, our site is very spacious, there are a lot of trees around which is great for shade in hot Alabama, and we had decent internet - good enough that my wife worked on it all day without realizing it. We have Verizon and we had either 5G or 5G UW the whole time. It’s close to a lot of stores and restaurants, Walmart was 8 minutes away for instance. There is a train nearby that comes around from time to time and an interstate fairly nearby so there is that slight noise to factor in. There are no grills or fire rings though you can bring your own off ground fire pit which is what we did. I personally liked it because it’s an RV Park that feels more like a small campground due to how spacious and “woodsy” it is. Of course not all spots have a lot of trees or are as spacious but most are. I do think $49/night is a little steep for this place but overall it’s one of the better RV parks we’ve stayed at. We’d definitely come back again.

My only negative is that we felt the price was a bit high for off season accommodations & the condition of our site showed general wear and tear. The blacktop on our pull through was very cracked & uneven, the picnic bench was worn and the surrounding area was neither fully grass or fully pebbles. It was a dated site for $51.50 per night & that included a 10% Dyrt Pro discount.

While we had a pull thru site, many others without pull thru have great SHADE trees.
The location was a couple miles from several restaurants and 20 miles from Birmingham. We used the camp location as a home base as we traveled to Tuscaloosa for a game, Selma and Birmingham to visit. I worked here 1.5 days and on zoom calls using my Verizon hotspot.

Yes, this was originally a KOA, but this RV park has been updated, safe and clean more than any average KOA that I have recently stayed. The bathroom and showers are extremely clean and the tile and paint updated. The pool area is also up to date. We used this as an overnight stop to see some family and would definitely stay here again.

Had to cancel 10 days out and they took the entire nights fee. I could see a partial and would have been fine with that. No, they took all of it. Rude people.
