Great campground, secluded campsites…or not, depending on what you want! Not expense I’ve, big Rv friendly, close to Winnipeg (about 30 minutes away), secure and great for biking/bikers/tenting/rver.

We changed sites and went to the office in the morning no problem. Sites vary in cost depending on the amenities. We had electric. We took some walks in the park. If you drive out of the CG you have to buy a pass for 1or 3 days or the season. That is to hike or go to the beach in the park. Laundry was clean $2.50 washers and dryers. ... more

Laundry was clean $2.50 washers and dryers. Open when the store is open.
Close to Winnepeg found a great no leash dog park 8 miles away called Kilkona. Best dog park we have ever been at and we travel full time. Acres of trails.

The site was level and had both a fire pit and picnic table. Firewood was available at the camp store for $9/bundle and was dry. This is bear country so no food can be left outside and we put the BBQ away each night. Both cell phone and wifi were intermittent.
We did two easy hikes - Chickadee and Spruce Bog which were pleasant. There were a number to choose from. We drove through one of the full hook up sections were the sites were all pull bys. Our area had more ambience and privacy.
We visited Winnipeg while we were there - about a 45 min drive downtown. The Human Rights Museum was amazing.
We would stay there again if we return to Winnipeg.

Wifi is available at campground store, but the area as a whole has decent cell coverage.

Because this is the closest Provincial Park Campground to Winnipeg it is BUSY and near impossible get a last minute spot (weekends).
This is a family friendly park with swimming area a long walk or short 5 min car ride away (its in the park).
Not dog friendly - no where to cool off a hot dog.
Close to the Peg - so you get OTA TV (5 stations),
NO Wifi
Rogers cell 4 bars

We resorted to pay camping because we desperately needed showers. I was surprised that the coin operated showers were so expensive ($1 for 3 min) compared to other sites we'd been at, and the water pressure wasn't great. The sinks in the bathroom were also nearly impossible to brush teeth or wash up with. The showers and bathrooms were clean and well kept though.
This seems to be a park more geared towards families and those who are into social camping, so it wasn't really our style. Nothing overly negative other than the people up late listening to music, drinking, and talking, but there are alcohol free areas of the camp ground that may be different.
We also didn't stick around the park to explore or take advantage of most of the amenities, so I can say little about that.
