We really liked this campground in spite of the rainy weather while we were there. Our site was perfectly level side to side with a nice gravel base, new looking picnic table and a fire ring. Since it is Red Salmon season there were several fishermen camped around the campground, but we still had our pick of very nice sites. It was very quiet and peaceful. The iron ranger collects your fee. Good roads in the campground, but the road to it was a bit rough. We highly recommend this campground if you are prepared to dry camp.

We used to stay here quite often and enjoyed the large sites and classic Alaska camping feel. It can get very busy in July and August as it's fairly close to the Kenai River. The sites are gravel, dry camping, but each has a firepit and picnic table. Classic old school hand water pumps complete that old-time feel. The nearby boat launch operated separately (fee based) is excellent for mid-Kenai River access for late season trout & silver salmon fishing access upstream toward Skilak Lake. Immediately downstream of the boat launch is Naptown Rapids, serious whitewater, and not recommended for first-timers. The campground and boat launch area are less than a couple hundred yards apart.
Kenai Riverfront Resort would stay here again
