Big Sycamore Family Campground

If you are a regular KOA camper, this place may be for you, but we were really disappointed after feeling so hopeful when we saw their professional-looking website and booked online. The ‘fancy’ website does not reflect what we found when we arrived. No staff onsite and they don’t answer at the phone number posted to call with questions. The virtual check-in email didn’t say our site number and my husband couldn’t remember which one he’d chosen when booking. Sites were all on grass and it was muddy with quite a bit of swampy standing water. The surrounding area was pretty but we wouldn’t go back to this park.

We wanted to extend our stay in the area an extra night but the state park was booked. We Were lucky to find this little place for a quick over night.

It seemed as though they may have just acquired this park but were working hard to improve it! The bathrooms and pool looked new and kept very clean.

Nice play areas for the kids. Spots were a little close together in the full hookup area but nothing crazy.

They have plans to improve the drainage system for water in general and for the sewer hookups.

It is an excellent site for families and kids and will be even better when they finish their intended renovations.

You can hear some traffic from the road and the occasional semi truck at night but didn't bother us a bit.
