9 miles north of the entrance to Lassen Volcanic National Park (Manzanita Lake area) and 0.5 miles down a dirt road, Big Pine Campground is a quiet retreat. The host was very nice. The pit toilets are kept immaculate. There are 19 sites. The sign at the entrance says “trailers not advisable” however my 16’ trailer and Chevy Silverado fit fine. Anything bigger would have a hard time turning around a corner or two due to the pine trees. There is a stream just behind the campground that you can hear. The parking pads, fire pits and grill areas are all cleared of pine shats. Half price for seniors. Maybe a handful of other campers during my 4 nights. No dump station, no electric, no showers. The potable water is a pump that I didn’t attempt to use. No spigots to fill RV tanks. So bring all the water you need. The host said most people disperse camp for free if you continue past the campground on the dirt road but I didn’t check it out. Save this info before getting there. You won’t have cell service.
