Long bumpy road to arrive at some beautiful woods with nicely spaced campsites. We stayed one night in our van and didn’t use any amenities or discern how to get to the water. Enjoyed the quiet.

Most of the camp sites are hard for RV's. If you have a "big rig " be careful here. My travel trailer is 18' was hard to find a level campsite. The hiking trails were not well marked or kept up.

We stayed over the week of the fourth (July) 2021. Many very nice sites to pick from. Some generator people showed up, but they kept them off during the night. Vault toilets were very clean and the DNR did a great job with the entire site. You can pay for your rec. pass at the site and they will deliver your sticker to you within a couple days (ours was delivered to us by the DNR same day at our site!!). Do not miss the .5 mile Big Knob hike (entrance found along Big Knob rd (parking across the rd at Crow Lake parking lot)) the view at the top by the bench is one of the most stunning my wife and I have ever seen in Michigan!!!
The beach is sandy and clean and you can walk for miles without seen anyone. There are several trails most of which are very overgrown and poorly marked (Marsh Trail and the longer Crow lk. Trail), walk at your own risk (the big knob trail and shorter Crow lk. trails were perfect). Bring bug spray or a flame thrower the Flies are EVIL.
The water from the pump is better then any water you have ever had.
It's 6 miles back to the site. Ingerdine is the closest gas station/store/hardware.
The berry patch (west on 2) is the place to eat out.
The Garlyn Zoo is well worth a visit.

Very quiet and very few campers. there were only 4 campers when we were there in late September. most sites are for smaller trailer and tent campers but our 27' 5th wheel found a great site with beach access.
With great sandy beach walking and a marked hiking trail right from the campground, this spot has it all.

Lots of large, level private sites. We have a 33’ RV and had no problem finding several suitable sites. Sites 1-7 have direct lake access to a beautiful sandy beach. Don’t be put off by by the 6 mile dirt access road. There is a gem at the end.

Our 32' Clss C with 16' trailer would have only fit in one other site comfortably, and there was a small tent already occupying. Another review states "The sites are medium to large sized, and the dense woods add a good amount of privacy", which is spot on, however, most sites woukd be difficult for analyzing other than a tent or small trailer to occupy. Beautiful area....

This campsite is nestled in a beautiful section of state forest at the end of a six mile dirt road. The campground has access to a small sandy beach on Lake Michigan and has a few hiking trails as well. We saw lots of wildlife, including a coyote and a porcupine! The sites are medium to large sized, and the dense woods add a good amount of privacy. Many sites are level or fairly close to level. Great place to stay if you're looking for some nature!
