We dodged rain all day in Minnesota and finally landed here after the rain had stopped. Lots of puddles and mud (obviously not the fault of the park). We found a relatively dry site with electric. Grill ring (didn’t use) and generous size picnic table. Sites are wooded and spaced a good distance apart. We tucked in for the night in our... more

A limited number of sites open for off season camping. $25 fee does not include $7 vehicle fee. If you come without reservations you need to either call and give someone your credit card information or go online to pay for the site. You pay the $7 vehicle fee separate and put that in the drop box. You can’t pay for the site using the d... more

There are two campgrounds at Myre-Big Island State Park: Big Island Campground (sites 1-35) and White Fox Campground (sites 36-99). I stayed one night in each in April 2017. I recommend staying at this park two nights if you want a pretty thorough experience on all the trails. The Big Island Campground is a much better option, for ... more

“Wooded campsite with views of the lake, a nature trail and bike paths – but the fees add up.”

We enjoyed our one night stay at Big Island Campground. The campground is very wooded and sites have good separation and privacy. All of the sites are back-in and are either primitive (no hookups) or have electric only (none have water). The dump station and water fill up is in the adjacent White Fox Campground. Our site #15 was hu... more

Its a bit pricy to stay here considering theres no water hookups. $5 daily fee, $6 for a bundle of wood, $29 for an electric site and $26 for non electric There is a place to fill up before you get to your site. The bugs are pretty bad here as we are in a wooded area. They have two different camping areas here for you to choose fro... more

After a long day of driving (almost 9 hours) we wanted to rest for a couple of nights in a nice state park. We were charged $27 a night for an electric site plus another $5 for the daily state park admittance. Our site was relatively level and nicely spaced. There's plenty of walking trails and wildlife but no real access to the wat... more
