This campground is small and primitive. We did not get a chance to check out the whole park but it looked nice. We made same day reservations over the phone and the process was quick and friendly. The sites were small but clean. The wooded site gave us a peaceful nights sleep. Simple and lovely.

I probably picked the worst site for our 30’ TT of all the spots here and to add insult to injury we were the only ones in the park! The site was level for the camper but the slope entry down into it made it a bear to unhitch and reconnect. Oh well, it’s a beautiful park. Sites have all been recently renovated with gravel and new fencing around each site. There’s no hookups or dump station. So plan ahead.
The lake is less than a mile from the campground and has docks for fishing and launching. Silent boating, only trolling motors. No swimming.
Bathroom/shower is all new, clean and well maintained.
All in all, it’s a great place to stay.

the camp site was clean and quiet, its not a large place, i didn't venture off looking for hiking or other stuff to do so I can't comment on that. my site was flat with some stone, I was able to pitch my tent with stakes into the earth/small amount of stone without issue. my spot had lots of tree cover and was mostly shaded from the ... more

my site was flat with some stone, I was able to pitch my tent with stakes into the earth/small amount of stone without issue.
my spot had lots of tree cover and was mostly shaded from the from sun. the washrooms and water was a close I could wish for. all the sites are close to the washrooms.
the washrooms where clean but probably could have been more clean. in the mens are 2 toilets, 2 showers and 1 urinal. there are 3 wash basins.
hot and cold water, I didn't see any laundry room or equipment.
the camp site was empty with just me there (not sure there may have been 1 other person, i only spotted a car).
at night i was lucky enough to see frogs,an armadillo and i think a fox.
its about 10 miles from nearest food places.
super nice I'd go there again

A nice state park in Southwest TN. We stayed here in early January, 2019. This is dry camping with no hookups and, important to know, no dump station. Not a problem for us since we have a dump station right by the place where we store our camper when not in use. The sites are gravel and ours was level, however, not all the sites looked like they were. There are some nice trails in this park and the fishing in Travis McNatt Lake is pretty good from a kayak. Be sure to take the hike to the fire tower for a good view of the landscape and an interesting stroll on the boardwalk through the Dismal Swamp. The bath houses are old and showing their age but are clean and well kept. Scouts use this campground frequently as well. Be sure to tour the nearby Shiloh National Military Park while here.

We arrived after dark, nonetheless this park greeted us like a long lost friend. Easy access, forrested campground, walking distance to trails and lots to explore. Stars at night. Good bathrooms, diverse types of sites to choose from. Most had picnic tables, bbqs and Fire rings. Friendly staff. They said even in season this park doesn't fill up. The Boy Scouts arrived as we were leaving.
If you have kayaks, the park's lake looks to be fun for a paddle. No services around though we did have AT&T cell service. The one other camper was playing a radio quite loudly in the evening. Our trailer was shaking it was so loud! They lowered it when asked but maybe it's something to be mindful of.
We stayed here bc it was convenient to exploring Shiloh Battlefield.
