Wow!!! Don’t miss this place! Large spacious campsites right on the lake! Fire ring, picnic table, grill all included! I stayed in #27 and can’t wait to come back! The scenery and campground very peaceful. My ATT had 5 bars entire time. Must check this place out!!

We Stayed In Site 25. It Had A Firepit, Large Picnic Table, a Grille & Ample Room. Sites are wooded so you have nice privacy as well.
The Host was friendly & helpful.
We only stayed one night as we were on our way home. But I would definitely stay again.

I had spot 31. Level, clean, pretty view of the lake, and a good distance to my neighbors. I wasn't there very long, just a quick overnight. Facilities were also clean. Lots of mosquitos, but that's not a surprise. I am also not sure how well big rigs would do in this campground as it was a fairly steep drop to the site.

We stayed here in October. This campground and nearby Raysville are are being operated by McDuffie County on a 10 year lease from the Corps of Engineers. It is clear that this is a former Corps campground. The sites are level, spacious, well-separated, and almost all are on the water. The interior roads wind through the trees, but there is plenty of room to move a large rig. Some of the sites are a little smaller, but you should be able to locate a large site if you need one. All sites are electric and water only. Most are pull-throughs, and as you are going counter-clockwise, the water will be on the door side of your rig. The few back-in sites seem to be quite long, but straight enough to maneuver easily. The dump is just inside the gate. We did not use the rest rooms or showers, but they appear modern from the outside. The campground is quiet, and you will find plenty to do. I-20 is a few miles away, and will take you to Augusta or Atlanta. There are several state parks along the lakes on the Georgia/South Carolina border. Restaurants and stores are just down the road in Thomson.

We visited 9/15-9/20/19. $60 for 5 days, with our Sr. lifetime pass. Great cell service with Verizon Lite, 3 bars. Also, Consumer Cell did great.
Only drawback not much to see in Thomson GA.
Highly recommend this Campground, great host, Ms. Johnson.

Big Hart is now leased by McDuffie County from the COE so reservations have to be through a different website. The COE site shows no availability.
