How rough is the gravel road to the campground? Traveling in a 38’ fifth wheel. Big! And heavy!

This campground was remote and glorious. Our site was right on the river allowing for some splash time. Our site was also huge, private, and felt like we were in our own little corner of the universe. Big Creek Campground is a 20 minute drive from Apgar Visitor Center and the last 3 miles are on a dirt/gravel road which can be messy after a rain. We were using solar for the majority of the time and needed to use our generator the last day to bring the batteries back up. Site 15 would be the one to choose if you have solar; wide open... more

This is a concession managed USFS campground on the Upper Flathead River. Just the other side of the river is Glacier NP. The spaces are wide and dispersed enough hat you feel uncrowded.
