As for the campground. The site was not at all level the same for lots of the other sites. Size-wise they were fine. It is also showing some age. The shower/bathroom house was not the cleanest. Didn.t play The miniature golf course they were charging $5 play.
It isn't horrible, I would stay again if I was going to go to the Ark. It is a bit off the beaten path. Take the exit Richwood and take 338 the next exit puts you on Beaver Road which is a curvy 2-lane road. Which is not made for camper.

Also very steep road getting in to the campground. Our site was long enough, but far from being level. Had to use two blocks and were still slanted... had lots of rain before we got there, so the trails were slippery. Very slippery. The small herd of bison was cool, the museum and salt springs cool - awesome history! I did enjoy the pool while my laundry was in the wash & dry - great temp! Lots of families, kids, dogs, lights and campfires and happy to say no fireworks for 4th of July! The dump station has two sides - was all good dumping on our way out until the "there is a leak in the dam" alarm went off - so, so loud and we had no idea what was going on until a day or so later when I saw an alert on their reservation site.

This seems way off in the boonies but is actually fairly close to Cincinnati, where we were headed. Office closed when we arrived, but clear check in procedures and drop box for personal check payment. We steered away from the crowded area full of families up front and stayed toward back (host was actually back there, but never made contact at all, very strange). A bit weedy but good space around our site. Too many campfires, but a peaceful night with enough Verizon and some OATV to pass the time after walking around the park, which is interesting.

Big Bone Lick is located about halfway between the Ark Encounter and the Creation Museum which is why we stayed there. The road coming in from I-75 was "challenging" to say the least. It was very narrow, windy, hilly and there were big waste trucks and 18 wheelers traveling on it at a rapid clip for part of the way. Once inside the park, the road to the campground is up a short, steep grade.
The campground has very short, narrow, paved sites with a little gravel area next to them. Some sites had parking spaces across from them which would be helpful. There is only 30 amp electric and there is water in the distance, but even with 50 or so feet of water hose, it wouldn't reach from some sites. We opted to just fill our tank before pulling in and not have so much hose out since it was around freezing temperatures there. Site 13 was fairly level, but many of the sites are not.
The park itself has a lot to offer. The campground has an old miniature golf course and pool which were not open due to the weather. There is a museum with some history of the paleontological exploration of Lewis and Clark. They offer a Jr. Ranger program. There was a small herd of bison you could see and some short hiking trails.
The museum and lower part of the park had no cell reception, but we had decent bandwidth with just 2 bars of Verizon from the campground.
We wouldn't make this an overnight stop due to the access roads, but we are glad we got to see it for a few days.

This campground also had no Verizon cell service (actually, none of the state parks that we stayed in had cell service on this trip). There were a lot of children in the park; however, they were all polite and got quiet at quiet time.

As for the campground, nothing fabulous. Our site was not at all level and we couldn't get to level. Lots of other sites didn't seem too level. Size-wise they were fine. The water supply is miles from the campsite. Must have a long hose if you want water. It is also showing some age. The miniature golf course is in sad shape, but is free.
It isn't horrible, but can't see it being more than an overnight. It is a bit off the beaten path. Getting to it off I 275 takes you down a lot of curvy 2 lane roads. Better access to I 75.

Left early because of the erratic electric at our site. Mentioned this to the maintenance guy yesterday while he was working on the breaker next door and his reply was "I didn't get a ticket on that". We spent the evening visiting family and when we got back we had to reset the breaker again, but by then it was 90 in the camper. we were done at that point.
All in all it is a clean park with a lot of cool history. We live in colorado but I dont think we would go back.

Oh! the campgrounds are great as well. Large clean sites. Site 29 was pretty level (no issues really, 2" up on passenger side and lower the front). The site had electric, water (fairly long run) and a dump station near the front of park. I understand it can get busy on the weekends, but during the week it was quiet and beautiful!
