One downside is the shoreline through most of that campground is made with rip rap (large rocks) to prevent erosion. But it’s no big deal because on the south end there’s a boat ramp.
The lake has great fishing. If you’re gonna be boating be prepared for high winds. It’s western Oklahoma, the wind is always blowing.

Big Bend is a really nice campground with most sites on or overlooking the water. We were in site A10 which was a nice site overlooking the lake with shade in evening, but sunny most of the day. Most of the sites, except a few on the water, seemed to have shade during part of the day. The picnic tables were all covered. We didn't use the bathhouse because it was so far from our site. The large lake looks like a great place for boating activities. The park has a very nice, challenging disc golf course beside the campground. We were here on a Saturday night in mid- August and the campground was only partially full.

This was our inaugural trip with our new rig! We were debugging and checking all the systems. This water and electric location on Canton lake in Oklahoma was just the place to test the A/C. Temps ranged between 101 and 92 during the day and mid 70s at night.
The campground itself is clean and peaceful with awesome waterfront views! During the week we were one of a handful of campers! Friday morning the campers and boaters came rolling in and filled the campground!
The boathouse on the other hand has a few issues to work out! Shower temps not regulated. Extremely hot water! The facility was old and in need of some TLC. Functional in a pinch!
With that being the only issue we would stay here again, but would choose a different time of the year. Would have liked to try some kayaking but with temps in the high 90s/100 we didn’t even get the boats out!
We love COE camping and will be looking forward to more in our future.

Site A15 is a lakeside site, covered picnic table with a nice charcoal grill, and fire pit. Electric/water only, we brought a honey wagon to empty tanks. Dump station isn’t too far.
Bathroom and Shower house are at the top of the hill, easy drive/walk.
We decided not to fish but our neighbor caught 3/3lbs blue catfish one morning.
We’ve been lucky with nice weather, little to no wind.
Cell reception is great with the Weboost. We streamed Netflix just fine. No antenna television, so glad we brought a weather radio.
It’s been a nice relaxing time!

Another last minute booking so the water/electric sites were taken. No issue though as we wanted to test our “off grid” capability. It was the closest site, that I observed, to the water. The best part was no one to the left or right. We had our own little peninsula. Arrived at sunset on Friday night and quickly set up. Unfortunately we didn’t start dinner until we’ll after sunset which required lights. Lights attracted a swarm of bugs which made cooking and eating very difficult. I’m still cleaning them out of our domestic. Watch out for the gopher holes as well. Bring leveling blocks.
Pros: cheap, autonomous, great water views.
Cons: Limited lake access. The only swimming area is about 10 minutes across the lake. Fisherman rolling right up to the bank to cast lines.
