I didn't have any troubles with the electric, it ran my a.c.. Some trees, but not enough to block the Kansas wind if it decides to blow.Fee area is south of bath house. Very easy to get to from both hiways.

Nothing to write home about, but good for an overnight.
All sites are on grass and share a covered shelter with the site next to it. Not really a problem because no one was here.
$10 for water and electric. No dump on site.

We had about 10 days to kill between our art shows in Oklahoma and Colorado and thought we do a little exploring and see how inexpensively we could camp along the way. We found one city park here in Kansas with free hook ups for 2 nights. We needed electricity to have air-conditioning ... it’s too hot and humid. Yesterday we found this place would $10 hook ups and covered tables. We ended up staying for three nights and enjoyed it very much… The weather has cooled a bit so air-conditioning isn’t that much of an issue but it’s nice to have the electricity anyway. We had a nice grilled dinner on our covered table then enjoyed the cool evening breeze. This place is right off the road and it’s nothing fancy but it’s all you will need for a couple of days… There’s not much to do but we’re working so office work, laundry and, general housework in the RV take place when we have downtime. There were two other trailers in the small campground but we never saw a soul. This little park is maintained well with nice level grassy areas to back up into. It was nice to have quiet private campsites for a couple of nights… We have dogs so we like it best when there are no other people around… And so to the dogs!! 🐶🐶

We stayed at the beginning of November and the water was turned off to the entire park. There is power, which is great!
Dumpster on site for trash. Overall great, simple stay. Would totally stop here again if we were in the area!

The grounds are spacious and level, well-kept (lots of garbage cans/dumpsters), and quiet. There are several ramadas with picnic tables, a couple of playgrounds, a group shelter, and plenty of space to boondock if you don't want hookups. The name is a bit misleading since the only water activity would be fishing, but accessing the water for that looked near-impossible.
What WE did was catch up on internet business, walk/run the roads, and work on our hobbies.
There were some day visitors each day who came to practice archery, walk themselves and their dogs, and the park employee who stopped by to collect the fee envelope and take care of a little maintenance.
It was quite windy a few nights, which necessitated us pulling in a couple of our slides to prevent damage to the toppers.
The showers are very old and obviously not used often, but there was plenty of warm (not hot) water.

The park is clean. There are covered picnic tables by each site in the paid area. We paid the $10/night for water and power hookups but there are plenty of places throughout the park to boondock. Room for bigger rigs too.
I was really surprised that there were also showers. In the bathhouse there is one shower stall in both the men's and women's restroom. It's not the most private, but it was clean enough and had hot water. Nice. Since no one else was there I didn't worry about the lack of privacy.
The town of Lakin is only a few minutes away. We went to the laundromat, the hardware store, grocery store, and the Flashbacks Diner. Nice little town.
Totally worth $30 for three nights.

It had just rained so a couple of the sites had standing water. With our 8800lb trailer, we didn’t sink in at all. The ground was wet but soilid.

As posted in another review, this would be a good place passing through. We had planned on staying here, but were a bit worried about getting our rig stuck. The roads leading in are all dirt and all the sites are grass. We have a 42' 5th wheel (18k lbs) being pulled by a semi and if the ground is soft at all, we sink pretty fast. When we checked it out, the road going in were overall dry with just a couple wet spots here and there, but if it rains while you are here, this is going to get muddy fast. There was some good ruts in the road from a recent rain.
The sites are super wide and easily 70+ feet long and we would have had plenty of room for even the largest setups, but the 3 or 4 sites on the north side that were on higher ground that seemed pretty dry were all taken. The southern sites had water sitting in them from a recent rain and that made us very cautious about getting off the packed road into the softer grass. Had drier sites been available, we proabbly would have stayed.
One thing to keep in mind that we noticed is that every two sites share a pavillion where the power pole is for both sites. If you back in with the pavillion on your right side, your power pole is going to be on wrong side of your camper unless you pull in forward.

This is a great deal if you're passing through. 3 day max stay for $10/night. Very large, back in sites on grass with picnic tables, cabanas, water and electric at each site. You can hear a little highway noise during the day but it is very quiet at night. The park has a lake and some picnic areas and a playground. There was nobody there when I camped in July. I did see maintenance people come in and out. Lots of frogs jumping about. There's a decent market in the town of Lakin 5 minutes away and a couple of restaurants. Picnic table was a little gross with a lot of bird poop but hey it's 10 bucks!
