It's a 6.5 mile drive south to Newport with all the amenities.

Rainforest with pretty good sites to choose from, beautiful walk to beach and an amazing beach. Well run, most sites pretty level. Has hookups. We come here for the beach but the camp is huge bonus. Overall camp is well run, facilities clean, has nice amenities.

Easy access from Hwy 101. Multiple parking lanes for RVs at the check-in station. B loop is closest to the entrance and ocean but you may get some highway noise. G loop is 1/2 mile back in the park. Close to Newport and Depoe Bay so restaurants and grocery stores were easily accessible. Camground road is rough with many potholes and rough pavement. Most sites are well screened with bushes, we could hardly see our neighbors. Bathrooms and showers were OK.
AT&T service was good with about 3-4 bars of 5G. Didn't even have to set-up the WeBoost, streamed easily.

Very narrow sites, close together with shrubs and trees for privacy. Only A and B loops are close to the ocean. Not a bathroom in every loop. Clean. Quiet during quiet hours but noisy at other times.

The park was well kept up and private spaces, however no showers and the pads were old broken asphalt - difficult to get level.
I did not make an online reservation which showed a fee of $33.00 per night and only used this park as a stop over night. I had the park fee card all filled out and ready to deposit on my way out in the morning. Two park rangers stopped by, told me I would have to pay extra because I was out of state, said there was a TV screen listing the various park rates at the checkin building and I needed to go look at that to determine my rate. When I stopped by the entrance booth, I checked to see the various rates. There was nothing there and no TV or view screen that showed any different rate for out of state vehicles, the online published rate did not show a higher price for out of state vehicles. No park rangers were at the booth, so I deposited the fee as shown online. Totally confusing.

The pull-through spots were a very nice touch. Its not that I avoid backing, but if I don't have to, why do it if you don't need to, right?! The location was a nice walk to the beach, however we were under a tsunami advisory, so gaining access to the beach would have been pointless as there wasn't any beach to get to. The location was a nice walk to the beach, however we were under a tsunami advisory, so gaining access to the beach would have been pointless as there wasn't any beach to get to. The bathrooms and shower facilities were cleaned frequently and well stocked. Very clean campground and its apparent that the workers take pride in what they do.

Well maintained, a variety of site types in case you’re looking for sunnier or more heavily treed. They don’t have many pull through sites, so some areas could be challenging if you’re not practiced at backing.
Site was just out of level enough that we pulled out our Anderson levelers. Cell coverage was spotty, but the main reason to camp here (since $50 a nite is a little on the high side for a state park) is because this campground is the portal to one of the best beaches on the Oregon coast.
