“Hard to get to but beautiful”

Beautiful scenery, literally in the middle of nowhere. Beware the roads to get there are so rough. You travel about 20 miles on low maintenance/travel at your own risk roads, through open range. If it was muddy we wouldn’t have made it in our little rv camper. We were the only ones there until morning when boats launched and trucks came to pick up boaters. Quiet, beautiful area we would stay again would just have to be cautious of road conditions. There is water available about 10 feet up the mountain at a hand crank. Vault toilets that were clean. Didn’t see dumpsters for trash, just trash cans. No cell service for us.

“Nice place to get away”

This is a nice little campground alone the north Platte River. We brought in our 30 ft 5th wheel and had a couple of options. Site 5 on the far west end would have been ideal. But it was taken and we ended up at #2. Given there were only 4 others in the entire park, this was fine. Sites are all quite a distance from each other. Given the proximity to the river, the mosquitoes were really bad during our stay in early June.

It’s about a 20-mile dirt road to get in with the last 4 miles being pretty rough. We were down to less than 5mph in several locations. Difficult washboard.

Lots of float boats come in and go out of this location. So day traffic in morning and late afternoon is substantial even during the middle of the week.

If not for the road-going, we would definitely go back. But that extra hour to go 20 miles was a bit long for our journey.
