Between all the Thousand Trails in Oregon I would stay at the one 10/10 times. They mention having power issues but we haven’t had any problems.

Stayed at this campground for 14 nights. I liked that it was a safe & secure place to stay. Site was pretty level, decently spaced and in the trees. Felt like this was a forest service campground, but with water and electric.
Pool remains closed for repairs. Many of the common areas /buildings are in need of repair. The laundry room had many machines out of order. I was happy with my stay and would stay again. If I paid retail and wanted amenities I would be left disappointed. Had great Verizon signal. Able to talk, text, search internet, and stream videos.

The Thousand Trails Bend-Sunriver RV Campground provided us a great basecamp to explore Oregon’s high desert. We enjoyed our stay at Thousand Trails Bend-Sunriver. The campground has a unique western theme and the campsites are spacious. For Thousand Trails Members, Thousand Trails Bend-Sunriver offers very attractive Getaway cabins. In this video, we provide a walking tour of the campground and it’s amenities. The highlight of our stay was a day trip to a bucket list destination, Crater Lake National Park. Verizon cellular service clocked in at 19.7 Mbps download speed and 1.13 Mbps upload speed. AT&T cellular service clocked in at 41.0 Mbps download speed and 1.35 Mbps upload speed. T-Mobile cellular service clocked in at 14.6 Mbps download speed and 1.84 Mbps upload speed.

This park reminded me of an old state park that is in bad need of maintenance and upgrades.
The forest setting was a plus but it could use some maintenance (timing and removal of dead trees).
We had water and 30 amp power, but no sewer connections at the sites (which we knew about)
The dump stations are in bad shape (broken concrete, no sewer caps).
Cell service was OK. The front desk person was nice.
A walk near the river was nice where the tent sites are.
We most likely will not stay here again.

This was our first Thousand Trails experience. The unexpected reality was ALL TT resorts are First Come First Serve, no reserved spots. The majority of sites here are only 30amp. So if your staying awhile, the game to play is to get on your bike or in your car and cruise the grounds just before checkout to see what sites are opening up. We did this and scored a great 50amp site with lots of room. Downside of course is moving sites. The whole area is treed, so no chance of satellite. Cell was also very weak. All activities were closed. About 20 min south of Bend.

It is a shame we couldn't use all the cool things due to the virus that this place has to offer.

We had a nice overnight stay here on our way from California toward Washington. Due to COVID the store and pool were not open. Still had nice access to the river. Site selection is first-come and you just drive around until you find a spot you like. We probably should have parked our rig and walked or biked around until we decided on a spot. Instead, we drove around (slowly because there are lots of speed bumps) and settled on the first spot we thought looked good enough. The site we chose turned out to be very dusty and later we saw sites that were more grassy.

We have stayed here a few times. The first (and longest) stay was in the summer of 2017 in our 36' Class A motorhome, just before the Total Solar Eclipse. Subsequent stays have been less than a week each, with our most recent stay (in our 40' motorhome) being September 2019. We saw plenty of large fifth wheels and motorhomes, so we could say this campground is big rig friendly, but not ALL campsites.
We really like this area and campground. Internal gravel roads with over 300 RV sites – quite large and fairly well maintained. After our most recent visit, it had been raining and there were quite a few water filled pot holes. Privacy and shading is good with trees between the sites. All sites for regular RV visitors are water and mostly 30amp electric only. There are NO sewer sites! But they do have two dump stations and a Honey Wagon service (which we didn't use) cost $50 per pump out. They also have cottages, cabins, yurts and a tent area.
There are five shower/restroom buildings, and a laundry. The Old Western “Town Square” includes a Welcome Center, General Store, book exchange, propane filling station, movie rentals, and a meeting room. There is a pool complex with a baby pool, two larger pools, and a hot tub.
Nearby Sunriver is a resort/vacation community filled with amenities like grocery stores, fuel, restaurants, breweries, and many many tourist activities. We loved biking around Sunriver on their extensive bike trail system. Downtown Bend has live music, vendors and food trucks in Drake Park in the summer. There are many great restaurants and is well-known for it’s breweries as well as the Old Mill District with a great shopping precinct. It's a great area hiking, biking, kayaking, rafting and paddle boarding. We drove part of the Cascade Scenic Byway and kayaked on the Deschutes River.
NO mail or parcels are accepted here - you will need to have your mail forwarded to General Delivery, Bend, Oregon, 97701-9999. Note: the local Sunriver USPS will NOT accept General Delivery.
As members of Thousand Trails, we did not pay a nightly fee to stay at this campground. It is all part of our TT camping membership that we have had since 2014. You can learn more about how we are able to camp 'for free" in our many articles about TT – and get a more detailed review and photos of this campground – at our RVLove website.
