The trails are a little short, but they are absolutely gorgeous! Nice colors in the trees and shrubs. I rode my bike over the trails easily, even the grassy ones. So peaceful water views of the Rappahannock River. Dump station is conveniently located on the way out.

Very quiet and spacious campground. Small with just 30 sites, most back-in but a few pull through. Some sites easily accommodate big rigs. Lots of hiking trails, Kayak/Canoe rentals. Bathhouse was clean and even had laundry facilities. Dump station and firewood are conveniently located right in the campground. Small camp store and a separate Visitor’s Center. My only regret is that we didn’t bring our bikes, but we will next time because there’s lots to explore! Only negative was that my daughter and I didn’t have hot water for our showers at the bath house which is why I did 4 stars.

We enjoyed our stay at Belle Island. It is a wonderful, quiet park. The campground is well maintained with large private sites. We had a huge shaded site with 50 AMP service and water as well as a wonderful area with a picnic table and fire ring.
The staff and camp host were pleasant, helpful and diligent about maintaining the grounds even though they were a small team.
The bathhouse was clean and well cared for, we did not use the showers but they appeared to be in good order. The laundry is quite reasonable at $1.25 per machine. Firewood is available in the campground area.
The park has numerous trails and areas to explore. They rent bikes, canoes and kayaks. There are areas to fish and swim. The only negative issue we encountered were the ticks and mosquitos. Be prepared for both.

The campground is very small with sites that are spaced fairly far apart. Additionally, the thick wooded areas between sites makes for the most private sites I have seen in the VA State Park System. Very quiet at night and little light pollution. Cartop and regular boat launches and numerous trails to bike and hike.

Met some friends here for Father’s Day weekend. Great sites, very level. Easy back in and pull through options. Rest rooms and showers were clean and typical for Va state parks. Very quiet but friendly. Enough shade to give cover in the late afternoon.

Like others have noted this is one very nice campground. I liked that all of the sites seemed spacious and far enough apart to enjoy a little privacy. Each site has water and electricity. There are two dump stations. My site, 26, was very deep - my little class b looked tiny in it. I was right across from the bathhouse. This is something I usually avoid because of the lights at night. But because my site was so long this was not a problem. The few folks I interacted with were competent and courteous. The bathrooms were clean. The one shower I used was alright... the pressure was a little weak but there was plenty of hot water. I noticed the water was very soft at this campground. There are several trails all around. I walked for miles and loved the fact I had so many options. The rate I posted included the online reservation fee (which probably was not necessary as there were not many campers while I was there).
Rating campgrounds is very subjective... consider that for me distance from home is important. This one is well under 3 hours away and that suits me well.

Sites are secluded and spread out. Only a few are close together and could be used for buddy sites. Bathrooms were clean and showers were huge. Lots of biking and hiking trails along with access to the river

We came here for a long weekend trip. The campground was well maintained, clean facilities, and friendly staff. Our site was perfectly level and had a lot of privacy, most others looked the same. We will definitely return in the near future!

Incredibly helpful and kind camp hosts & rangers, canoe/kayak rental on the Mulberry Creek just off the Rappahannock River. Spacious RV sites with water/electric hookups. Beautiful Virginia State Park!
