“A little off the beaten path, but comes at the right price.”

We stayed a couple nights here to rest up along our travels. The access from the Liard Hwy. was good, and room for larger rigs as long as your careful. We were there in the Spring before everything had melted, but still managed to find a spot that worked well for us. Not exactly right on the Alaska Highway, but worth the trouble if your looking for a free place to stay the night that is on a lake, and is a regular campground.

“Quiet campground (in the pre-season)”

Small campground off of highway 77 just past Fort Nelson. Most of the sites are for smaller rigs. The best site for a more massive rig is at the end of the campground road at the back of the turnaround.

We stayed here on a weekday and just before their “season” starts. So your mileage may vary.

The road in is unpaved and a little bumpy but we didn’t have any problems with our class A, though we took a couple of limbs to the side of the RV. Each site has a large, sturdy picnic table and a fire ring. There is no cell service here. It is free, and a ranger rolled through just as we were about to leave. Otherwise, it was just us down there.
