We tried to stay here June 2 but decided against it and headed back to Fort Nelson. The spots are set back in thick woods which was nice but there was no lake view and the mosquitoes were horrendous. There is a turnaround loop but we had a very hard time making it with our F350 and 36’ fifth wheel. Lots of back and forth to make the turn. The road was soft and we made some really deep ruts in the mud. We were lucky not to get stuck! There are about 6 or 7 spots and we saw two other people there. There were 2 or 3 spots that would have fit our big rig and been possible to back into but would have required some maneuvering and given the mud and that the spotter was getting eaten alive outside trying to advise, and we just decided to abort. Would be better for more agile rigs.

We loved staying here. There was only one other guy the entire time. The back two spots are the most spacious. every spot has a picnic table and a fire pit.
There are many bears here.

We were there in the Spring before everything had melted, but still managed to find a spot that worked well for us. Not exactly right on the Alaska Highway, but worth the trouble if your looking for a free place to stay the night that is on a lake, and is a regular campground.

The road in is unpaved and a little bumpy but we didn’t have any problems with our class A, though we took a couple of limbs to the side of the RV. Each site has a large, sturdy picnic table and a fire ring. There is no cell service here. It is free, and a ranger rolled through just as we were about to leave. Otherwise, it was just us down there.
