“Super Rural Muddy No Cell Signal”

We drove to the campground on roads through corn fields. Then we decended into a valley. We saw many deer. The campground is very off the beaten track. The campground is mud and gravel. Lots and lots of trees and bushed. All the campsites are very tight. Honestly the one we booked was probably the only one that would fit my dually and 41’ 5th wheel. One road in and out. Not wide enough for 2 vehicles. Pretty creek behind campsite. Dump station was impossible to use if you have a trailer longer than 20’ due to the tight turnsin and out.
One good thing: there is a 41 mile rail trail that starts in nearby Houston and it is worth the ride. Great bike path.

“Camp in Minnesota Bluff Country”

This state park, in Minnesota Bluff Country, occupies the upper reaches of Beaver Creek, including its primary source Big Spring. The water flows in good volume at about 50 degrees F. A little cold for swimming but some do; just right for trout. Many campers are also trout fishermen.
The campground is along a gravel access road that runs the length of the campground. Most sites are rather small, the electrical sites are about 30 feet wide and are parallel to each other. The first 23 have electricity ($8). The higher sites are tents only, and cart ins.
The campgrounds have water in one building, including showers for campers. But all toilets are vault type.
Hiking is very good. Some trails are rather steep. If you want a more leisurely walk, try the trails that go downstream from the picnic grounds - go over the swinging bridge.
No cell service.
