“Bear Ears Views!”
Reviewed May 13, 2017
This is a super easy, just off the highway boondock with plenty of space for multiple rigs or big rigs, and plus, unobstructed views of the Bear Ears mesas! *****MAJOR WARNING: the GPS coordinates lead you to a large dirt parking area next to a corral, and just before the dirt road goes up a slight hill. This is the only appropriate area for RVs. Just after that hill, the road goes to hell. DO NOT attempt to go on the road past the corral without scouting it out first, because the ruts were terrible when we were there. There is another camping area about another 1/4 mile on, but you'd want high clearance to access it.
And minor warning: the boondocking area is a little lumpy, but any size rig should be OK as long as you go slow. However, the dirt gets really sticky when it's wet, so it's not an area to choose in rainy times.
We loved the quiet, the stars, and being in the shadows of America's newest National Monument. We had multiple neighbors when we were there, but everyone was super friendly and respectful.
