Designated campsites have yellow and black "Camp Here" markers. Camping for more than three nights or with 10 or more people requires a permit from a Forest Ranger. Call 518-897-1300 to get the name and contact information for the local ranger.

Mostly walk-in campsites in this area. Some drive-in sites but they require a permit under the Motorized Access Program for People With Disabilities (MAPPWD). Not sure about boondocking, but looks like you can probably get away with a night or two without being hassled. There's a spot where buses turn around for picking up people doing... more

My kids and I found an awesome spot!!!! Tons of room. Access to water across the street down a small trail. An outhouse!!!! It was a great experience for us!

This place was hard to find. Eventually we found a small sign that explained that only some sites here were available for overnight camping. We tried to find these sites, but every site we found said no camping. We eventually gave up. If you try, good luck!
