This camp used to be $10 per night. They developed a problem with crime and people trying to reside there full-time - and the cops would come out regularly. Now you need to register online and it requires a fee just to book, plus the camp fee, which was $24 when I stayed. I suppose they wanted to run off the full-timers, but in doing so, they made the campground (about 26 sites, approximately) too expensive for my tastes. It’s not worth much more than the $10 it used to cost not too long ago. No hook ups and both sides in and out are pretty hairy for a motorhome. Rarely do you see an RV there anymore. Don’t get me wrong, it’s beautiful, but it’s nothing special and includes many drifters that try to pass out for free around your site. The sheriff deputies rarely solve such problems. They get called for fights, drunks, etc. and they’re kind of slow and obnoxious to remedy the problem and then leave. Warning: bathrooms are typically very foul and feces scattered, yet they “try” once a day to clean them. One other thing: the sites without shade get blistering hot. Also, when it was cheaper, I used to stay there sometimes with a tent. Usually groups of intoxicated teenagers running around naked — “appeared” to be 13-16 years old and typically nude and up at all hours, while walking through sites. Be careful of all of the above. Used to be a gem. Not anymore. Lastly, do not expect terrific cell signals. It’s in a steep canyon.

3 separate occasions where stuff from campsites stolen, including ours. We were scheduled to stay 3 days and stayed 1 and hightailed it out of there! Bums, night traffic and trashy dirty people all over. This is not a good spot. If On the fence, NO!

We picked this site at the last minute to be close to the river for a rafting trip. The river was low and we touched "bottom" often - ours not the river's. All of the sites are along the river. We took our 27 foot trailer and JUST made it into site 18. There are 2 roads in. Both are steep and very narrow. Passing another large rig in either direction on either road would be very tough. The southern most road has one very sharp turn. We did not go that way with the trailer, just with our truck.
There was quite a bit of trash on the ground. Not big pieces, just alot of discarded stuff like bottle caps, straws, rope, string. litter.
Cell phone signals were good enough for using our internet hot spot. Good radio coverage. No TV.
People there were friendly like they are in all campgrounds. Apparently this place has improved from years ago when it was a homeless hangout. Now that reservations are required and there is no first-come-first-served camping it is more of a family place. I never saw a ranger or host. Registration instructions say to hang your online receipt on the site post, and I did see a campground "tag" on the post, but I never followed the instructions to add the tag.

Nice camp site by a river with around 20 sites, fire pits, benches and drop toilets. The toilets are really clean and the camp site was nice and quiet. TJRich would stay here again
