I’m seriously thinking about never coming back here again if they keep this guy around.

We love this place, our 3rd visit. So many activities paddle boarding, biking and hiking. Daniel the camp host greeted us on arrival and made us feel safe and comfortable. Stayed 10 days and it wasn’t enough. Close to Red Rocks and great golfing.
Will be staying here definitely again.

I travelled here with a 35’ 5th wheel, long bed pickup and parked in the site #20, an electric only, BI site for $35/night. Bear Creek is a great park with lots of activities for families and others to do including a beach, non-motorized boating, bicycling, hiking, archery, and horseback riding. Roads are asphalt and the campsites are gravel. The campground is totally open with no real shade. It was easy to navigate and I had no problems backing into my site. It was a little bit sloped side to side, one board leveled the rig. There is constant highway noise but it isn’t horrible. Sites are moderately spaced so you don’t feel like you are on top of one another. There was a playground immediately behind my site which would make it great for a family with small kids. One odd thing about the campground is that the water station is totally separate from the dump station and is on the opposite side of the CG. I needed to fill my tank so I ended up going around the campground twice to dump my tanks (I had been in a dry campground previously), get water and then get into my site from the right direction. I had 4 bars 5G Verizon coverage, loads of OTA channels (80+) and no wifi. Bathhouse was clean with two separate individual showers. You had to pay $1 for 5 minutes. Rangers are very visible and cruise through the CG often. Felt safe even though it is a heavily used park. NOTE: GPS tried to take me in the afterhours gate. You need to find the main entrance to the park which is off Morrison Road. I would definitely stay here again.

I tried for a few weeks to get a couple night here but was only able to get one. I understand why. It is a nice place but it is really the only CG worth staying at in the area. Surprising to me because I would think this area would have lots of CGs.
Getting off on the wrong foot the GPS tried to bring me in off of 470 where a large DO NOT ENTER sign was. So I had to continue on and pull over to figure out how to get in. The entrance off of 8 is the correct entrance. Once you go through the gate there is a 2 mile windy road to get to the CG. Turns out the entrance I originally was brought to is only for campers to use after hours.
A little pricey for what you get IMO. But like I said it is the only game in town. Sites are level with new electric hookups. No water or sewer at your site. One water spigot and one sewer dump in different locations. There was a firepit and picnic table along with a nice sized gravel patio. You are in the suburbs of Denver so internet was good. There is considerable noise that can be hear from 470. This road does seem quite busy.
There are pit toilets if you like to use them. The roads are paved and in good condition. A park Ranger is on duty and drives around quite a bit. The park itself looks nice and has a few lakes that were busy when I was there on the weekend.

We really enjoyed our time here. The sites are very spacious and while you can see the highway from the site, it’s so far away, you can’t hear any of the traffic. There are so many trails to explore and driving proximity to many attractions is great. The park associates drove through and were extremely friendly.

Bear Creek Lake was a great spot to camp and see the surrounding area. The sites are large, fairly level, and gravel. There isn’t a ton of vegetation between sites, but there is grass, and they leave most of the greenery intact around the park while still leaving areas to walk a dog. There is a fair amount of spacing between sites, and we really enjoyed the privacy after a few weeks spent in commercial parks. Sites are electric only (some are 30amp, others 50amp, & their booking website makes that clear), and while there are drinking water spigots around, there is an RV fill station and a separate dump station.
We arrived on a Sunday and couldn’t believe the crowds around the lake, the full archery area, or all the cyclists, so while the CG is set in the back of the park, it allows access to all the great park features while keeping the CG away from it all and quite serene. The camp hosts are kind, helpful, and keep the place looking pristine. While they don’t offer WiFi, our Verizon service was excellent without the booster. The CG also offers bathrooms and coin op showers, but we didn’t use either.
While I see some people have complained about noise, we had no issues (yes the occasional engine from the nearby drag strip or car speeding down the highway but nothing constant), and we slept with our windows open every night. I also see complaints about the visible Home Depot, and again, to us this is silly…. Yes, you can see the Home Depot, but it’s also far enough away, I didn’t register it after seeing it the first day. Needless to say, we don’t share either of these concerns. We used their spigots to fill our drinking jugs, and their water definitely has a bit of an off taste (we’d bring our own next time), and we experienced a number of low-voltage errors during our stay.
$35 a night for electric-only is on the pricier side for us, but for the area, it’s pretty reasonable. This is a really nice and well cared for CG in a peaceful setting with lots of outdoor activities, and we will definitely stay again.

There are a lot of hiking and biking trails, as well as a beach and several other activities. Our site had a 50 AMP hookup, but none of the sites have water or dump. There is a central fill station and dump station. Our site was not level and our auto-leveling system could not get us level. This was our first trip in our Class A so we didn’t have blocks or pads to help us manually level. However, we did just fine for the night. I would definitely recommend the park for one or two days; especially if you were attending a concert or event at Red Rocks!
