Overall Rating

Bear Canyon is the third of three campgrounds in the immediate area. It has three group campsites with parking and large areas for tents. The sign also suggests 'family units' which appeared to be a couple walk-in sites. The pricing was the same as for the Ponderosa campground down-valley : $18 per camping unit with a 50% discount for Federal passes. While there is room to park RVs in the parking lots if the group units aren't in use, it really didn't look like it would be an option. Too bad because its a beautiful setting.
