Homeless set up tents and use the bathrooms and showers. Sleep in cars in the parking lot. Staff doesn’t seem too concerned. When we stayed, there were many vacant sites. When we asked to stay 2 more nights due to next campsite cancelling they could not think outside the box to let us stay. BUT. It is a beautiful place when the lake has water

This was a great camping area, quite a bit of road noise in certain areas and very busy during peak season.
Miles of off road and paved bike and hiking trails make up the park.
The lake is close by for fishing and boating, along with multiple attractions nearby.

Folsom is a booming suburb of Sacramento so expect bad traffic and noise. This is not a rural park. It’s built on a water reservoir.

You feel like you're remote and you have direct access to trails and bike path from your site, but very close to downtown Folsom which is a cute little town. Site BP60 was FHU and spacious kind of tucked in a corner. Trash and recycle right at your site and picnic table and space from neighbors. Almost perfectly level site.
No laundry at campground - but Laundry Paradise in Roseville was a great find for us - very clean facilities and new washers. Worth the drive compared to Laundryland in Folsom. I'm only giving it a 4 because it would be a 5 if there was better service or if they offered wifi. It was decent, but could've been better. We will definitely be back.

Great site for a working getaway with excellent Verizon coverage. Several restaurants are nearby for those into that sort of thing while camping. Major grocery store is 6 minutes north.
The rangers and camp host were all very welcoming and helpful. The site was clean and flat. Tables and fire rings are far from the pad. Some pads in the southern ring are shared with the adjacent site, so be prepared for that if you bring an RV or trailer into the section without hookups. We drove through the hookup section and it looked nice with good space between each site.
Our site was closer to the road than I would do again. The road is fairly well traveled even in the middle of the night. The East side of the campground is protected by a small hill that might reduce the noise a bit.

This was our first trip in our new travel trailer. We stayed at site #53. Nice spot but no shade. Decent distance from next spot. On a 100 degree day we went swimming in Folsom Lake. The water was low but felt great. Full hook ups. Quiet

Staff was very friendly and the campground is very well kept. 3 min walk from our site to Folsom Lake. You are definitely still in civilization, but trees surrounding sites make it feel like you’re removed. Highly recommend!

Some sites were flooded when we arrived, so we were lucky to get an unflooded site.
In the mornings and evenings, or right after the rain, hundreds of birds came out behind our site to feed - was quite a sight!
