Backed my pickup right up to the hookups and filled my water bottles with some of that clean municipal water and had a good night's sleep in quiet, safe-feeling surroundings. We enjoyed our evening at this quiet small city park. We had water, electricity and a place to park, all for no charge. Thank you Bayard, NE for your overwhelming generosity.

This is a city park where you can stay two nights for free. You will have electric and water but to dump you will have to go to the city dump about a mile or so away. They say there is three spots but a forth RV showed up and it fit fine and since he need 50 amp an the other RV was using 30 it was fine but they had to split the water.
You can hear trains in the distance but they did not bother us and they did not wake us up. However, we did have the fan running all night as cover noise.
This a a great over night spot. Not much to do in Bayard, Nebraska other than go see chimney rock. A lot of the stores are boarded up and I did not see an open restaurant. But we had a quiet nights rest and hit the road the next morning. I would stop here again if I pass through this way.

First 2 nights free then $10/night after. Water and electric hookup. Peaceful except for occasional fireworks but really not a bother. Clean spots for 3 RV’s. One other camper for 1 of the 5 nights. Great short time spot.

After seeing Courthouse and Jail rocks then Chimney rock this is a perfect pull off for the night across the street from the city park. Ate supper in the pavilion. Has water and electric. All fire if you stay only 2 nights. Through the telephone wires you can see Chimney Rock.

Great place to spend the night on way to SD. Big lot with lots of room for three rigs. It has both 50 and 30 amp service with water. There is a free dump site across town you can hit up before or after your stay. The park has a wide open space and playground for the kids. We came in on 12th street which was easier than 11th.

I guess it is all in your perspective. I read other reviews for this place but I could not agree with them! We had some difficulty locating this park and eventually asked a local where it was (Google maps will not direct you to the right place; the “campground” is located on East 11th Street and First Avenue. It is located uphill from the downtown area so don’t confuse it with another city park closer to downtown. Now, to review the campground. Western Nebraska campgrounds are unlike other places we are used to – perhaps it is because of summer heat (and biting flies) but most seem to be geared toward RVs. This one has three sites, although they are not separated in any way save for the electrical and water hook-ups. Just room for three rigs on a gravel area. No tents for sure. Across the street from these “sites” is a nice lawn area with lots of trees and a covered picnic pavilion, which could make your stay more pleasant, as long as a group isn’t using it. There was a persistent barking dog nearby while I was checking it out. About the only redeeming thing I can think of for this place is the price: free for the first two nights but you would need to pay $10 per night after (I guess to discourage people from living there). Close to Chimney Rock and about 25 miles from Scotts Bluff but otherwise not much in the area.

Stopped here for the night easy big rig access and free! Water with 20/30/50 amp power. First 2 nights free 3rd night $10. Nothing here so don’t go out of your way but great stop to rest. We had to unhook our towed and back in but was easy. One other couple here in a van set up a tent.
