This was a FHU, good cell phone coverage, and clean with little noise. The casino is located right across the road and has decent food. We don't use the bath house. This is a good location with about 20 min drive to Sault St. Marie. We couldn't get reservations closer and ended up splitting the UP into east/west section. This was our east location, and we did quite a bit of driving to see other things of interest. We will camp and then travel a radius of an hour to 1.5 hours away, and sometimes even 2 hrs to see different things. The gas in the vehicle is cheaper than the diesel in the motorhome. There's also a golf course, so a lot of campers were here playing golf for the week. This isn't a big town by any stretch. We went to the only grocery store and opted out to go to the Family Dollar, which we noticed is what most folks were doing, filling their cart as if they were in Walmart. There are a few other places to eat here but we didn't try them. We did the Soo lock tour, the History Tower, St. Mary's Catholic Church, a freighter tour and we ate at Antler's in the Soo. The information center in the Soo is a great history of the locks and there's an observation deck behind the information center where you can watch boats go in/out of the locks. There's a Walmart and a Walgreens in the Soo. There are other campgrounds in the UP that we could've relocated to and spent a night or two here/there and moved on, but we prefer staying somewhere at least 3 nights, and this campground served us well. We'd stay here again. The only drawback is the roadways. It's all dirt/grass, and the holes are bad, especially coming off the paved road...CREEP when you do this. They have a dump station if you don't want FHU.

We arrived at about 1:00 PM and wondered whether we go to the Casino parking lot or the campground (CG) on the other side of the road. We opted for going to the building at the CG entrance. Good choice as the check-in office is located there along with restrooms, showers, and laundry. Check in wasn’t exactly quick but we were offered a couple of sites (without any recommendations based on the size of our rig) and made the mistake of taking site 12 because it seemed to be the furthest from the road. The only good thing about the site for us was that it was along the dog run. This FHU pull-through was tight with trees preventing us from putting out awnings and we were VERY close to the neighboring sites. We had to reposition our rig just to get the slides out. Our picnic table was in good shape but our fire pit had garbage and grass growing up about a foot. The site was just long enough for our 5th wheel and truck so we had to park diagonally in front of the site. There’s a nice dog area (not fenced) across from this site but the poop bag garbage can had not been emptied in some time as it was overflowing. The first thing the next morning we went over to the casino hotel office to ask about moving to the 78-120 section where the sites are longer and better spaced. We had scoped out empty sites and asked for pull-through site 117 with FHUs, which was then assigned to us. The ladies at the casino were definitely more helpful than the gentleman who checked us in. We moved that morning to this better site. We got 2 bars on Verizon. The Wifi was below average for a CG this size, and even very early in the morning, it was mediocre. The water pressure was average at about 40 psi. However, the cable worked well with lots of channels. There was a laundry room with reasonable prices, which was convenient but not all the machines were working. We do not gamble and the food at the resort was nothing to write home about so not much of a draw for us. While the adjacent golf course was great, we’d need a more compelling reason to come back.

This was our second choice for camping. But it should have been our first! Campground is centrally located, so we were able to go out and explore the UP and come back at the end of the day to hunker down. Campground was not full, so, they were pretty well stacked every other, which was nice. Not a whole lot of shade, but it wasn’t really a problem in this climate. Laundromat housed 3 washers and 3 dryers and only $1.25!! I use the handicap shower, and when we entered, there was no shower chair. No problem. They called over to the casino and within an hour, one was there. Showers very clean. Lots of trash cans throughout the park and they were emptied daily. An ice cream truck even drove through!! Great home base!

Don't come during rainy season unless you like the swamp! Many of the sites have drainage problems, fortunately the time of year we came (late Sept) there were plenty of empties so we could pick any other site than the one that had an extension of Lake Superior attached! Still, the sites need some TLC as the grass was not mowed, thus retaining moisture, especially in the shade. Even with some sun the ground never dried out so it was a wet stay. Consequently we didn't spend too much time outside at the site, there's too much to go see around the region anyway. Restrooms, showers, laundry facility was okay but dated. The site pads could use some new gravel and so could the driveways, product of poor drainage. If you hunt, fish, ATV or just sightsee it's fine to stay & leave.

In a normal year this was going to be our stop on re-entering the USA, but this year we visited driving up the I-75 from the south with is a very pleasant drive. When you arrive you get to pick from the open spots, notice on the satellite map that the spaces to the right of the entrance (north side) are larger with more spacing than the ones on the left. Easy in and out with a big rig.

Sometimes you need a place to plug in and park while you take day trips. Bay Mills is perfect for a night or three! Gravel sites, fairly level(we used two boards to help adjust our motor home). Sites are pretty close but room to put out slides. Picnic tables and fire rings at every site. We just wanted partial hookups (hence the price), full hookups are available for $10 more. There are restrooms, showers and laundry on site plus a small camp store. WiFi was ok and cable is available (we have satellite so we don’t use cable). The casino is across the street and several restaurants are close. We enjoyed exploring the area and used Brimley as our base to explore Tahquamenon Falls.
The campground registration/office is at the campground. We drove to the campground and we were told which sites were available and we could choose whatever we wanted. We opted for being close to the office as we have a large motor home and it was easy to drive in to our space.
