Honestly, I have had better experiences at bass pro shops. But this time however, I stopped here to take a nap for a couple hours after 4 AM and at 7 AM I was woken up by a cop, banging on my van door, and when I made my presence known, he told me that I had to leave immediately because “there is no camping here”. I did not get in contact with bass pro shops at all, so I am not sure who called the police. But as I was taking down my set up two employees in boat tractors drove by looking at me. So if you are going to camp here, I suggest only overnights and to take your set up down before six or seven am. I never had this issue at Cabela’s.😜

An employee at the service desk confirmed that overnight parking was fine. It is next to the highway and under a flight path, apparently. Don’t expect total silence but I’ve slept in much louder places.

Definitely a good overnight stay, fairly level for our 40’ 5th wheel. Great location, close to nearby attractions. Traffic and plane noise but no big deal.

I asked at the main desk in the store and they said RVs and campers are able to use the parking lot on the right side of the store, as you’re facing it, where the boats are parked. I was the only one here, well lit, easy access and lots of space!

Lot of freeway noise, otherwise it was ok. The noise died off some about 11 and picked up again around 5. Plenty of security lighting. One other rig in the lot. We were left alone.

Had interstate noise but a good night sleep until the sprinklers started hitting the camper but didn’t last long. We parked in the lot that had some old boat trailers. Nobody bothered us and we where the only ones spending the night. Pulled in about 10:30 pm and out about 8:30 am. Great place for a nights sleep.

The lot is clean and very flat and off the right side of the front of the store. There were several boats parked there that looked like long-term storage. I parked in the back of the lot and was never bothered the whole time. This is a great location for visiting Council Bluffs and Omaha.
The parking lot is very close to the highway so you will have traffic noise, but a decent noise maker will do the trick.

I confirmed with the manager again in October 2023 that overnight RV parking is permissible. They ask us to park in the northwest lot only (the lot closest to the boat parking area). Traffic from the event center will sometimes spill over into the Bass Pro parking lot and impede store customers, so that's why management will sometimes call the police and have that (non-store related) traffic relocate. If in doubt, go in and introduce yourself to the manager & get a name.
Standard Bass Pro Shops parking lot surfing. Confirmed with personnel on March 1, 2020 that overnight RV parking is acceptable. Council Bluffs free public WiFi available on the SSID "BLink". Nearby freeway noise is pretty standard.
