When you get there, you have to check in and there’s LOTS of gnarly speed bumps so be careful. Stayed a weekend because you have to get two. A bit dirty when we arrived but after cleaning trash out of our site enjoyed our stay. Some of the sites are close together but we stayed in #25 and had plenty of space between us and the neighbors. There is a beach which we thought was closed since it was surrounded by a locked chain link fence but was told later it was open and to walk around. Instead we took a quick swim right at our site. (Some are steeper than others)
I didn't visit the bath house but my husband said it could use a little attention.
Staff was nice. View of dam was pretty cool. We were there on a summer weekend so the lake was busy with boats and jet skis but it was very quiet at night.
There isn't much signage when you pull in, no arrows and road though very narrow seems to be 2-way. We ended up going in the wrong direction and had to turn around to be able to back in to our site. Luckily we are small!

Chris the Park Manager was amazingly helpful, even brought an air compressor over when I found I had a slow leak in one of the trailer tires.
Overall it was a great place to stay while I went down the freeway each day to shoot photography at Old Car City, which is also a must see. Would definitely stay here again.

{Location} Lot is like 1 acre, very private and on the lake. If you have dogs best spot because you can let them run! (Don’t forget to check with me for availability) serious, I live in the middle of a National park off grid therefore most of my “camping” is during my traveling, finding a place to stay overnight either a Rest-Stop or a Cracker Barrel works but when I want to let the dogs run, charge and fill up I will stay at campsites.
{Space14} is a bit of an angle to park, Very woodsy, short walk to the latrine and laundry. Lot on a slope to the lake.
{Cell Service} limited 1-2 bar Verizon service, greatly enhanced if you have a “DIRECTIONAL” Antenna I found pointing to the (West) I had great reception (3-bars)
{Latrine / Laundry} bathrooms and showers are fairly clean as expected being out in the woods. Laundry is clean, operated with a card coins not needed!
{Lake} is your typical muddy GA water but nice. Lots of boat activity but not overwhelming.
{Security} this appears to be a great safe place but always ensure you are aware of your surroundings and take advantage of your 2nd Amendment Rights as you travel. A nice “trained” early warning device as I have (dogs) that will watch your back as you enjoy your travels will greatly enhance your trip.
{Staff} are excellent and support America and do not tolerate Democrat Bull-Sh*t !
**Remember*** if your dogs are not obedient and trained your asking for trouble. I find most have no clue how to handle their pets. I keep mine on a shock collar and in most settings and most campgrounds you need a leash but here you can let them run so long as you can control your dog. Mine sit, come, lay and stay as well as attack on command and they do listen.
