Free, quite, plenty of space, wild chickens. Lots of shade, picnic tables. Accessible trash can and hose! Nice for dishes. Facilities could use some cleaning. We stopped for one night driving through to our final destination.

It's truly surprising this place is free. There are no designated spots but there is plenty of space to spread out here. This place includes a boat ramp, showers and real toilets. We did not use the showers or bathrooms as we have our own on board. Other campers told us they weren't the cleanest but they actually had hot water. Unheard of for a free spot. They also have water spigots outside the bathrooms and trash collection.
It was quiet during our stay here. On the weekends there was a bit more noise as this is a favorite spot to launch boats into the water. But nothing over the top. From almost anywhere here you have a view of the water. It's a sandy road coming in for a few miles but we had no trouble with our 31' Class-C RV.
There is a sign stating a 7 day max stay. But no one was enforcing that. During out stay everyone was very nice and friendly and respected each other's space.
There is a decent sized town about 25 minutes away with plenty of supplies.
This place was quite the gem and we would stay here again. We would have stayed longer but we needed to continue south for warmer weather. We stayed over New Years and into the first week of January.
I highly recommend driving the hour in and checking out St. Simone's Island (a great way to spend New Years Day).
Some other reviewers (here and YouTube) mentioned the locals being territorial, we did not encounter that during our week long stay.
Lastly, our internet worked great here without the booster so we were able to accomplish some work during our stay.
We kayaked out to the Altamaha River, there is a nice sandy area to park it and hang out for the afternoon. The weather was perfect for that during our stay.

This could be a great camping experience with flush toilets and hot showers the only problem is there is no camp director on site. During our stay 2 campers ram their very loud generators all night making it impossible to sleep and BLASTED country Sunday morning 7AM. I asked both to stop their generators. One did the other one refused.

Water entered my camper van and was all over the floor
I had to call a towing company to get out.
I visited the site again 2 days later and found somebody else stuck in the same hole, so I figured I warn visitors here!
Don’t take my rating seriously. I have never seen the camping area. Just here to warn people and this app forces me to rate it.

The water comes up to a few of the campsites so it’s a beautiful view out your window. I didn’t make reservations and it doesn’t seem like they have a reservation system.

There are no real rules, and so my evening was ruined when an RV came in and turned their generator on and left it on ALL night. Their lawnmower sound ruined the quiet of an entire campground. If you have a generator, be considerate to others. No one wants their solitude ruined by this noise pollution. If you can’t “camp” without one running all night, maybe you shouldn’t be out there at all.

Pros
Hot and cold showers if you’re willing to shower in pretty gross public bathrooms that no one maintains, but hey it works and it’s free.
Pretty friendly ppl, there were few rvs that have been there for quit some time, one even has a rooster 🐓
Cons
Half of the park is flooded,
Which brought all the bugs, so we had our fire going throughout the day to keep them away.
We planned on staying longer, but the main road started to flood today, so we packed up our stuff and left, didn’t want to get stuck. We spread the word that more than half of the road as you turn from the cox road onto the dirt road is flooded but it didn’t alert them too much 🤷♀️ We didn’t want to get stuck or flooded.
Sherif told us that it’s not a good idea to camp there this time of the year because the water will only rise even higher. SO STAY AWAY FOR THE NEXT 2-3 weeks

I did listen to the previous review and type in “fort Barrington road” instead of following directions to the park. The road was still rough, but the previous review mentioned GPS would take you down a one way that ended at a dead end and they could hardly get their RV out. We only stayed here for a day, left before the night. There were TONS of bugs and the road to get there was just so bad that since we had to do a store run we thought it wasn’t worth it to do it again. Not bad for a free campsite! Without the mosquitos and bees everywhere, there was a small lake view, bathroom that was quite dirty, but worked. And there are cold showers which we didn’t use.

GETTING IN AND OUT
If you have a big rig and it just rained a lot. The road leading there and much of the park is SAND. This will turn to slick and sinking mud. Def appraise before venturing.
Your GPS WILL LIE. It will take you in a NARROW one way back woods rd. If you’re on orchard or cemetery road turn around. We kept going thinking we were close and at the end it was fenced off. We could BARELY turn around and it scratched up our RV.
You was COX rd SW to BARRINGTON rd. It’s a very easy dirt road. ANYTHING ELSE IS DANGEROUS. again COX rd SW to BARRINGTON
